I'm not sure about the some events that break immersion... Did kings in the XIth century go to the local pubs and quietly flirt with the waiter? Also, why would he sleep in the inn? Why would the king's tailor of Galicia go all over to Leon to exchange some ideas about dressing?
So not only the waiter in a local pub flirts with the king, but then it turns out that she is a noble (she belongs to a dynasty). On the other hand, all the archbishops are lowborns (which may be accurate in history probably, but some did come from dynastic families).

I have started a separate thread for this point but I found it quite immersion breaking that our character himself was there to save Rodrigo's life in a county in France (to fabricate a hook) while our character was traveling to Santiago on a pilgrimage.

Really long detour on the Pilgrimage? :p
Why not? It was right next door, so he probably wanted to go the "scenic" route. :)

Besides, the king of France was kidnapped by taking him on a long detour as it were. I forget how the wording for that event went, but they commented on how it was way out of the way.

Anyhow, I think the event for the hook just needs a little adjustment. It's written that there are bandits outside the walls and it sounds like the player's character is the one there and seeing those bandits and so wants to use them. In reality, it would probably be the spymaster who saw the bandits and wanted to use them. A small clarification in the wording to indicate the person local to the bandits was the spymaster would be better. Besides, I have a feeling the walls referred to weren't the walls in Spain, but the walls in France where the spymaster was. It just wasn't clearly written to indicate that.

So my quick evaluation of today's stream:

  1. Less laughs from me, but very fun.
  2. @HottestRod and Alex sucks at the game. :p
  3. Too much thinking, too little conquering. ;)
  4. Bad sinners! BAD!

Agree on 2. I actually felt physically uncomfortable when they went ahead with the title revocation even when the dialog box with angry red letters was leaping out at them (and us). Also, I think they were a bit too cavalier with the reveal of the bastard child, since spouses are now also councilors.

I'm mostly set on a Day 1 purchase myself, if only because I'm clearing company time off and leave in Sept, and I really want something to play.

Combat looks to be really streamlined. Not sure how I feel about that. Early game looks like whoever has the most knights wins

So a historically accurate Early Medieval period, then? :)
