That's indeed concerning. If the game had a proper regency system it would certainly display the regent here, so either the regent is much less important than in CK2 (instead of more important) or not even existing at all... Quite sad.
Why would the regent be in the *family* tab?

You know what would have been a really, really fun stream tho? Playing as Urraca and murdering your way to three thrones. Think I might do that for my kinda tutorial playthrough.

Why are the members of the HRE leaving when they have such low level contracts? Shouldn't they be fine with being a vassal since they pay almost nothing? They should rebel if their concracts are bad, not if they are good!
On the other hand, if you're almost completely independant, you may as well just become fully independent.
If your liege lacks the authority and you don't benefit from having a liege, it's natural to seek independence.
  • Still literally no one has any moral qualms with murdering a child? Well I guess it's CK.
Tbf we're talking about medieval aristocrats who are thirsty for power and land, and you do suffer a malus if you are a known murderer.
Also keep in mind that in many societies, the murder of a kid isn't necessarily considered as a worse action than killing a ruler.

I'm not sure about the some events that break immersion... Did kings in the XIth century go to the local pubs and quietly flirt with the waiter? Also, why would he sleep in the inn? Why would the king's tailor of Galicia go all over to Leon to exchange some ideas about dressing?

He had 21 intrigue I feel like for average characters it won't be as easy

21 before selecting a focus, so 24 with Skulduggery. Plus, the spymaster was also very skilled with a 20 in Intrigue. And their targets were like... 3 Intrigue King of Castille. The King of Galicia actually had 0 Intrigue. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't so proficient in murder, given those circumstances.

It's unfortunate that succession mechanics are going to be bugged for release, but at least they are aware of the issue and it will be fixed in the post release patch. Aside from that everything looks great.

That is like the first game breaking bug identified. Which makes me wonder if there are more.
Well I wouldn't say it is game breaking, just means more people to kill before you can get it.

But there almost certainly will be more bugs and weird things, that will pop up that will need to be fixed.

Otherwise I think the stream was amazing, loved when they discovered the King was incestuous with his sister. I also love when the nephew became King of Galicia and everyone in chat was saying murder, I only wish the stream was a bit longer, even just like ~30 minutes longer.

Actually it may mean that you'll have to kill them in a particular order or press the claim in war. If inheritance skips to the mother's side and you're related on the father's side you might end up outside the line of succession.

I think in that specific situation the bug is very severe. They would have never inherited the title anymore, since it changed dynasty through the bug.
Just hoping that the bug will be resolved soon after release (it's not that difficult to fix), since if playing as leon, the bug is relatively likely to occur...
One of the journalists wrote something like that he didn't always understand the ways of succession and blamed it on himself, but maybe he had a similar bug.

If that is the case then yes it is game breaking, but in the stream you can see for a brief moment the line of succession when they are investigating it and you can see that the player character is still in the line of succession.

EDIT: okay I had another look and the player character is not in the immediate line, at least one can generally in that instance still declare war for the claim. At least their will be the release patch they will release after launch, that should include the fix to that problem. I have heard that it is fixed in a post-release patch.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if that is the cause for the confusion.

Btw, is anyone else uncomfortable with the in-your-face-y nature of the list of things to do?

In CK2, they were neatly arranged at the top of the screen, but in CK3 they are centered and stick quite far downwards toward the center of the screen, where they were kind of in the way. I'm fine with rearranging the items in a vertical list rather than horizontally like in CK2, but it would be less obtrusive if it was in, for example, the top left corner.

Well, maybe it can be moved.

Not a big fan of the Arrange marriage screen. The portrait at the top takes way too much space (and unnecessary), resulting in not being able too see more that a few candidates.

Also not big fan of how diplomacy/character interaction menu looks (color scheme) and works. Why collapse options? Scrollbar worked fine in CK2.

Fairly certain it's meant to be something you click open and then close when you are done. As a lot of the suggestion things aren't really crucial notifications I think they want to keep down clutter.

True, but if you close it, you can't see the list (duh) and it seemed to be useful enough for the casters to have it open for a significant portion of the stream.

Play styles differ between players, but considering that CK2's equivalents of the list (the notifications on the topmost edge) are visible all the time unless you explicitly dismiss them, I suspect that many players, especially those coming from CK2, will want to have the information available most of the time.

Again, maybe the list can be moved to a less obtrusive spot without any issues, that would already solve all the issues I have with it :)

They aren't the same notifications though even if you have that list closed you will still get notifications such as "ruler not married" and others the same way you did in CK2
