It would be a nice option to alter global % chance for a set period of time by spending prestiege.

For Example

Spend 1000 prestige get 10 - 20 % chance increase for 2 - 6 months for the ai to go in ahistorical directions by adding this percentage to option B and taking it away from option A

How about that?

I don't think so because you couldn't do it in real life

That's the most esoteric feature request I've yet encountered... and it's brilliant! Obviously the AI wouldn't have the option, and it's much easier than mucking around with event files, particularly if the effect could be compounded. That way, if you were to cheat up enough prestige, you could... really screw things up. :rofl: That, coupled with the prospect of doing it from any given point in history, gives it the potential to be interesting, to say the least.

yes but this is supposed to be a historical game and including a mechanism like that is very unlikely

Please do consider that there is option B even for ai to choose. Most of the time it is 20 % or so. Some events, like HOI2 "Danzig or War" where Germany asks for polish lands or it is war the event chance for option B is 2% where poland folds

If it was a "historical repeat" game by your definition then there would not be an option B.

what iam saying is in real life there was no option like that in the day even now so it shouldn't be included in this game. However like in HOI2 the user should be able to open up an event file and be able to define a percentage chance for the choice like:

Code:
action_a = "ACTIONA"
chance = 75
command = {}

action_b = "ACTIONB"
chance = 25
command

all the user would have to do is change the values

Of course there is no magic that alters the fabric of reality to produce increase chances of this possible future event or that

Please do consider those that might be interested in pushing the ahistorical envelope.

Yes we can change the % chance of this event or that.

This proposal asks to introduce a variable % chance that can be triggered at will by the player if they want to alter the gameplay experience in a profound way for themselves.. And only if they decide to spend prestiege on it.

so instead the event above would look like this

Code:
action_a = "ACTIONA"
chance = (75 - VarX)
command = {}

action_b = "ACTIONB"
chance = (25 + VarX)
command

Where VarX is this variable I am talking about.

For Multiplayer this might get to be interesting though. Maybe competing players can spend prestiege to try to go historic or ahistoric. or maybe disable the ability through game setup menu

well, this seem to step very far away from anyhing Paradox has done so far, so if one to request develpers to look into a strange, maybe interesting, but strange feature, one woudl have to start early.

after all this game mechanic is unlike most anything except for some DND spells or something

"A possibility to assess which option is better doesen't exist, becouse the possibility of comparison doesen't exist. A man lives everything for the first time, and without preparation. Like an actor preforiming without a rehearsal. So how can one asses the value of life if the true rehearsal for life is life itself? Life is therefore not unlike a sketch. Only, not even sketch is an adequate word, for sketch is allways a blueprint for something, a preparation for a painting. A sketch which is our life is a sketch for nothing, a drawing not followed by a painting."
- M. Kundera (amateur translation from croatian which was translated from czech :D)

So, I believe the AI should favor the historical option in at least 95% of the time, but modding could allow for more "fantasy" mods in which this percentage could be altered (or alterable).

and again a guy who offers modding as problem solving, and does not understand that if someone posts here something, than they wish that to be INCLUDED into the game itself. :rolleyes:

PS: I like the idea to influence AI-s choices somehow, maybe not like this, but similar

I like this very much .. it could be used to simlulate diplomatic pressure to force AI countries along certain paths.

Obviously it should cost heaps of prestige to do this ..

As to suggesting/requesting new features, I'd hazard the guess that the train has already left the station already in most cases.

i like this idea.
this is exactly what eu lacks. some politics beyond dow and peace treaty.
if you are superpower you should be abe to push some smaller country into doing something without just declaring war. imho this should be somehow applied to other decisions, not just event choices as well.
you should be able to apply diplomatic preassure to any country you got diplomatic relations to. threats, promises, bribing, there is definitly a way to do it without 'magic'.
now this happens only between players in mp and it has to be done by improvisation, game mechanic doesnt actually suports it. for instance in peace treaties, shouldn't it be as equally important as a warscore, what other european powers think about it.

imagine couple of powers in europe screaming at some small country 'do this instead of that', and others screaming 'do the oposite!' finally there would be some geopolitical fighting without raw use of force. (this now happens only in mp chat)

Would be great fun to have such an idea, but unfortunately I think Paradox probably won't put it in.

I like the idea, but not the way you stated it, it should cost more than some prestige. Should cost money, resources, even some land to make it look like you are paying someone to influence his decision, just like in real life. This should also be an option to AI nations, strong nations with money should try to influence smaller weak ones, however if nation A wants weakling to take option b, but nation B wants weakling to take option c, then relations should drop in both sides, sometimes leading into war for the big monsters.
I did like to see somethign similar on EU 4 or EU3 expansion
