Hello,
I am just curious what are some of the community's favorite army stack. What are your go to units for a single stack that you know can handle almost every situation. I'll go first, the first secret tech I played was celestian. I ended up creating a stack of three Star Guides, two Teachers and my hero. With right mods, I was surprised how well this army did.

It does not exist for me as I play all different combinations instead of playing the same faction or ST again and again.
Favorite NPC is paragon as it is very effecient cosmite-wise. In my previous game I had 1 tier 4 paragon in command of 17 tier 3 paragons, the cost is just 2 cosmite per turn and you have crazy damage with AoE stun. Favorite unit is Amazon Huntress, with a single tier 1 mod it decreases armour by 3 from distance 6 with 95% accuracy and nice damage.

I am a big fan of early game promethean syndicate stack with 3 of the Promethean Indentured Purifiers an overseer an enforcer and a hero in an apc. Good damage with Aoe good healing and a stagger resistant front line fighter with a small range attack in case of flying enemies. Also super cheap with Indentured contracts

Full Xeno units... and dont even give a f* care wether they die or not.
Honestly, with all other Sercrect Tech debuffs recently, the Xeno seems to stand out as most invicible. One of their most troubles ist the research cost for unlock the Xeno Lord... now completely solved after the Civil Research remake. Just one Colony plus 2 Research Sectors are all I need.
...the old timer AoW3, rush for T3 units and win the game.

To make it even better... the many buffs for Bio weapons channel together with the downfall of Promether Tech...
For my current games, I always was too strong so that none of the AI dare to be hostile against me (unless I forced them). But what could they do... while they were holdin only t1 and t2 units (full Equipped) yet facing my endless growing Xeno Lords (and other races troops too) stacks.

I'm a fan of the vanguard troopers. I like their overwatch abilities as a tier 1 and have good range. Once modded they're easily a deadly late/end game unit.
Amazons huntress and biomancers are favorites too and are great for their poison damage channel and blinding and sleeping abilities. Add a psifish or two for their impressive psi abilities.

In empire mode, I like massing psifish sirens w/ evasion mods and the mod that makes psi hits decrease accuracy. On ground troops, substitute regen for the to-hit debuff mod. The psi fish are all floaters, so they can get where they need to be, and the sirens can even poop out more units.
For T1 Infantry troops, I like melee units. They are far less likely to die en mass in autocombat, and all T1s are expendable.

I am more interested in favourite army composition of different races.
Lets take Assembly: I love getting mass Reassambler with Advanced Reassambling, Stun module and Arc extension. The amount of crowd control and units this gives is just so good.
Syndicate I like getting Indentured (also with Stun module and Arc Extension) with Overseer as support.

But for example Sharkan, I have no clue. I don't know its units, I can't handle the starter ones. What is your favourite loadout for them for example?

I don't use the Shakarn T1 Infantry (Raiders). Their weapons degrade at -1 dmg/hex, making them melee-range ranged units. So basically, they suck. Most of the rest of their units are fine, but I find sonic mods underwhelming.

Yeah, I made the same experience. The biggest problem is their squishiness. They want to charge in for maximal damage, but get downed real quick when focused by 3 units.
I am not impressed with the Deadeye either, because I honestly want range over mobility. But maybe thats just me not getting used to them yet.
Infiltrators feel weird because you can't mod them. In theory you can hunt down a good T2 unit and let it be shifted as them, but autobattle has the tendency to overwrite their last shift (I thought they adressed that problem o_O). Generally, mods are more important than such flexibility IMO.

So, that was the 'starter' army. None I was really happy with. So, what would you do? I imagine that Sharkan Phase Walkers could be decent, because they can use Sonic mods (which indeed are kinda underwhelming, agreed). Otherwise, how good are the Propagators effects? The Omni CLaw unit I haven't tested either, and the Tank seems too slow to build up? Their T4 I haven't tested it personally, but whenever I faced it it felt ... weak.

Actually, most of Shakarn units sucked. Their strong points focus on strategic plan rather than pure brute force. The Shifter might work well for expedition, my favorite target is the Kir'ko Transcedent. The Shifter ability that allows her to Revive suit perfectly for a Transcedent... but that's all. They not fit for mass battle where you must anihilate your enemies.
The Raider actually not so bad. If you had the Autonom Laser Mining for them early, they can perform better than all of other low tier range units (Troopers, Indentured...).
Sadly, from mid game and late on, you must rely much on their T4 unit. That one hella a true T4 unit compared to other races.

Since the Release, I combine the Shakarn only with Promethean and Synthese tech... until the Promethean got so many debuffs.

One good thing is, Shakarn Heroes quite strong. They have many useful ability that can be adapted in many situations. For example, their Universal Camoflage that allow them to conceal the whole stack.

Raiders are great, one of the best tier 1 unit IMHO. In 6 vs 6 combat you send a couple of raiders and disable the most dangerous unit(s), stagger helps a lot. Late game you mass raiders without any mods and they are still useful because of concussion ability while all other tier 1 units don't do much modless.
My favorite stack for shakarns is 2 raiders, firebrand, tactician, siphoner (heritor) and propagator for bonuses.

I like using the Oathbound and my best army was hero as a champion, the exemplar, a diviner, a protector with stun and arc extension, and finally two aspirants with the same mods.
