The fleet has moved into the Gulf of Morocco for a continuous sequence of battles one after another. These are mostly secondary or minor fleets but there must be a limit to how long this can go on. I’m just going to sit here intercepting and sinking allied ships until they get the message that Gibraltar is cut off.

In every single battle my carrier fleet has proved capable of maintaining range and preventing the enemy from closing. There have a been a few encounters where initial contact was made at much shorter ranges but only against small fleets of light forces. The Light cruisers have even managed to fire a few shots and claim a couple of kills. I have now become over confident and just assume that no enemy battleship fleet will be able to close. This could become quite dangerous as the risk remains and the consequences are so rapid that immediate attention is essential.

The first of Blue Emu’s giant U-boat fleet start working up at La Corunna ready for operations in the central Atlantic. We now have 16 modern U-boats and 2 old ones. U-boat operations will be revealed once they commence in earnest.

I've only renamed one ship so far and that one hasn't featured at all yet. At some point you may see a new museum piece called "Greek Submarines" that I seem to have acquired in Athens. Other than that they are all standard names. How many CVs have you built in the past? A quick check of unitnames shows it as the 12th CV for Germany.

The naval and air battles around Spain continue with the same intensity. There is almost continuous fighting and although the allies lose few ships per battle it must be starting to add up. See ship loss report below.

As a minor interlude my air patrols around the UK have picked up a single submarine. Allied operations in the UK theatre seem to have tailed off to almost nothing.

With Seville clear I have sent my TAC bombers on naval patrol in the western Mediterranean. This has come up trumps and located significant allied naval activity. Obviously the Italians have not taken full control of the Mediterranean just yet.

As the battles off Gibraltar dry up I decide to experiment with some convoy attacks. The main battle fleet seems to be rather good at it and promptly takes out 31 transports from the British merchant marine. The main fleet is shortly supplemented by the U-boat fleet but their numbers remain small.

I have to depend on slightly less emphasis on air power in my AAR.

Bombing in the Western med continues and manages to find some French ships. I thought I had got them all but obviously there are a few left.

U-boat warfare around the Azores quickly starts eating into the Portuguese convoy assets. The Azores is their capital and if I can cut off everywhere else then I can eliminate all garrisons on Portuguese territory. Portugal should only have about 40-50 convoys so this is quite a dent in their resources.

This is the last sinking credited to the main fleet who now return to their blockade duties. The last thing I want is the allies sailing out and starting to sink U-boats.

More fleet action in the continuing blockade. It seems odd that the blockade only intercepts enemy fleets and not convoys but apparently you cannot do both at once.

The first wave of new destroyers has won its first kill. This small fleet is transferring to Lisbon ready for merging and ship exchange with the Kriegsmarine carrier fleet so that the whole fleet has a speed of 28 knots.

A major success for Prufrock’s intelligence operatives. This doctrine may be a side branch I am not following but this single part of that branch is sensible to acquire since it gives +50% on strategic bombing (ie Twice as effective). Well done you spies.

Current intelligence operations consist of a cyclic doctrine stealing process for USA and UK plus a massive roll out of spies to other countries. I am currently trying to infiltrate every first or second rank power in the whole world.

But wouldn't that make it 150%... therefore 1.5 times as effective?

EDIT: And oh yeah, how come your "new" DDs are level 3?

U-boat operations around Gibraltar (note the spread west and south to make a double layer). The CV fleet took out 37 earlier and this lot comes to another 22. 59 British convoys is about 5% of the entire merchant marine. I could extrapolate based on this rate of loss but really the U-boats are going to do the rest. They have managed about 5 per day and at that rate I will have sunk 1000 in 200 days. This suggests a U-boat build up assigned to convoy warfare around the UK’s Atlantic theatre bases should be able to destroy most of the UK’s convoys prior to Barbarossa. The big unknown in this is what the UK convoy policy will be once ships become short.

In all likelihood the AI is too stupid to give up until there are insufficient left but at that point all convoy activity in the Atlantic could cease.
