An Italian antique squadron has intercepted the museum squadron. Unfortunately antique is better than museum although we don’t end up losing any units. This is a near miracle and the museum flees for dry land. I think it is probably time this lot really were sent to the museum as they have no realistic role in a modern navy.

New TAC squadrons flying from Athens exact some revenge. These TACs are not yet fully upgraded and therefore should be used in a way that leaves them grounded every night. I’m not trying too hard on this at the moment but I really should make sure they get upgraded.
Anti-naval operations in the Mediterranean are currently very subdued and are unlikely to develop much until the Balkan land campaigns are finished.

Operations in Romania have been slightly curtailed as I wait for further reinforcements to arrive. The initial attacks where a little less efficient than my normal standard so I have focused current operations onto more limited objectives until a stronger frontline force has been collected. Bombing continues but has little obvious impact on total enemy strength.
Notice the grand list of battles taking place with everything except the battle of Tulcea being air attacks of one sort or another.

The submarine group sent to harass the convoys to the British forces in my west African provinces has had its first success. It seems like a long time since I sank anything and I am getting worried that the u-boat campaign has seriously faltered. The last success was 11 transports on August 8th. This is starting to look like a rate of 1 per day which will take several years to deplete British assets. There must be a “leak” in the screen and I will have to look to tightening up the u-boat screen across the mid-Atlantic.

The Turkish navy has got involved in the museum competition but still we manage to escape without losing a ship. This is turn into quite an adventure, it is only sad that the ending is less than happy (known as the scrap yard).

Continued bombing of allied forces in Persia is failing to create any reduction in their strength. I am hoping this is due to the constant cycling of new units since they are still moving but I cannot be certain how much damage I am really doing with watching very closely.

I have sent a real u-boat pack into the central Mediterranean to start interfering with Italian convoys. They have run into a small Italian fleet and drawn blood. Whilst destroying an enemy unit is always nice I have also suffered the temporary loss of 3 u-boats that are sent back to port for repairs. One of them is only just afloat whilst the other two are only lightly damaged. Ship damage is a constant drain on operational strength and it is preferable to be left alone to sink convoys.

A few German divisions have finally arrived west of Romania and just in time. A quick strike north into Nis eliminates the risk to the air base in Belgrade once and for all. This finally tidies up the map in this area and sets me up for some offensive operations.

The main high seas fleet arrives and promptly sinks an Italian battleship. Our first real bite of their fleet and hopefully a good sign of what is to come.
Right on the heels of this the Bulgarians decide to join in and immediately receive the standard treatment. After a quick save, edit and reload they are at war with me instead leaving almost global war in Europe.
The US President
“It has become apparent that the Government of Germany, pursuing its course of world conquest, intends to make war on the rest of mankind. German forces are steadily attacking the remaining peaceful nations of Europe.
The long known and the long expected is beginning to take place. The forces endeavouring to enslave the entire world are now moving toward this hemisphere.
Never before has there been a greater challenge to life, liberty, and civilization.
Delay invites greater danger. Rapid and united effort by all of the peoples of the world who are determined to remain free will ensure a world victory of the forces of justice and of righteousness over the forces of savagery and of barbarism.
I therefore request the Congress to recognize a state of war between the United States and Germany.”
Fu Manchu
“It is my firm belief that the establishment of a sphere of common prosperity throughout Greater East Asia is not only the Empire’s policy, but indeed a historical necessity in the event of world history. And those countries which exist in that sphere can contribute to the peace of Asia as well as to that of the world by their procuring each its own place and enjoying common prosperity amongst them. For that purpose I need hardly say that it is of vital importance that there should be security and stability in this part of East Asia.
With the united empire of the petal throne we have taken the first step towards restoring the role of a Greater East Asia but there is still much to be done. Today we find the biggest threat is a Germany bent on world conquest and the subjugation of all mankind. We now step forwards as the equals of the western powers in opposing the aggressive new colonialism.
A state of war will now exist between the Empire and Germany
Long live the emperors.”
Germany is now at war with every power in the world except the Comintern alliance.
As soon as a representative of the Russian government posts a suitable speech then we will be at war with them too
