Please read carefully next time please.

Was it ever specified than a nuke was send on the USA? Its said than it was nearly possible to but it wasnt done. I did not build this description myself but what happened before the armistice in this timeline is than Germany did performed a ballistic attack near NYC but this attack was only a demonstration of power, to show than the Germans where able to strike at them.

No, it is not said specifically that Germany nuked the USA.
However, it is implied in the text.

The successful completion of the German atomic bomb program and the A-10 intercontinental ballistic missile enabled Germany to launch a nuclear attack on the United States in 1946.
This is going to be interpreted by a lot of people in the way I interpreted it.

And even if it is meant to mean what you say, it is not correctly stated in the text.
The text makes it very clear that by 1946, Germany had the ability to succesfully mount a nuclear warhead on a ballistic missile, and hit the United States.

If you merely mean that the USA was afraid Germany might have that ability, then I suggest a rewrite of this particular line.

How about:
In 1946, after the successful completion of the German atomic bomb program and the A-10 intercontinental ballistic missile, Germany threatened to launch a nuclear missile at the American East Coast.

Well, first of all, my criticism was not meant to be offensive or rude in any way. I wanted to offer constructive criticism, which I think I did.

Second, I do not think it is pointless. This mod is not just about gameplay, it's about an alternate history. And inaccuracies like this tend to hamper immersion.

Third, now that you mention it, I would like to point out some others things about the country description for Germany:
Doenitz advocated a strong, nuclear-submarine based navy for deterrence.
Nuclear-submarine. Whether you mean nuclear powered, or nuclear weapons capable, both are impossible in the late forties.
The first nuclear powered submarine was USS Nautilus, which was launched in 1955. Now, I could see a nuclear powered sub by 1953, but that the earliest.
Now, if we're talking nuclear weapons capable (nuclear missile, not torpedo) then the timeframe shifts to the mid to late '50s.

I suggest changing this line to:
Doenitz advocated a large, submarine based navy for deterrence.
A large conventional submarine based navy would still be a strong deterrent, since Germany (in this timeline) proved that it can strangle the UK with subs.

Hitler needed to repair relations with China, and Alexander von Falkenhausen was dispatched to China again.
This is extremely unlikely. By this time, Chiang is being given massive amounts of supplies by the allies. He cannot accept aid from Germany, without cutting off aid from the allies at the same time. And there is no way Germany can supply the amount of aid the US can.
Besides, with Japan firmly in the US camp, it's quite obvious who's the strongest power in the pacific.

Internationally, Hitler realized he had to repair his image as an aggressor.
I would change this to:

Internationally, Hitler realized he had to get rid of his image as an aggressor.

If you need any historical advice, feel free to contact me. As I said, all my comments are intended to be constructive observations. I am merely trying to help make this mod better.

This proves a bit of a problem when you consider that the USS Nautilus' design was based off of captured German Type XXI designs, which in accordance with this mod's time line would not have happened, so American sub technology to say the least would be set back a number of years, along with all Allied technology in my opinion.

Thus, I would put a lot of crash 'catch-up' events for the Americans especially, as if they did not have a chance to steal all of the patents from Germany, then they would be technologically backwards for quite some time. Sort of a reverse of the actual Cold War, with the Soviets trying to keep up with the Americans.

This is ridiculous.
First of all, the main design feature of the Nautilus is not its hull, but its reactor; which was of course not based on German designs.
Second, it is a blatant lie that Germany had better technology than the Allies on all levels.
Sure, the Germans were the first to field jets...they were desperate. American and British engineers weren't far behind. Germany was also lagging behind in computer science, naval engineering (not to mention naval tactics), artillery, nuclear engineering, and a host of other projects.

True to that, however, the design of the hull, and interior was certainly influenced by the German design XXI. So, in the very least I'd put the launching of the "Nautilus" at least one year later than in real life. According to divergence theory, the thing might not even be named 'Nautilus'.

Yes, I was speaking hyperbolically, but there were impressive gaps between German and Allied (mostly western) technology, and I would throw in at the very least "crash programs" for things like missile research.

The delay doesn't make sense.
Sure, the US used elements from the XXI's hull. So what? The problem designing the ship was not the hull, but the reactor; and that's all that matters.
Even if the US doesn't get its hands on an XXI, they won't be far behind when it comes to conventional subs. They've been fighting an unrestricted submarine war as well, remember?

Yes, I was speaking hyperbolically, but there were impressive gaps between German and Allied (mostly western) technology, and I would throw in at the very least "crash programs" for things like missile research.
And besides missile research, there just aren't any areas where the Germans are ahead of the allies by a sizeable margin.

There was a book by this name, reading through im not 100% sure its based off that, but it has a similar story, although it focuses mainly on Germany itself and the characters within.

As debated earlier, in the book the Germans launched a missile that exploded over New York showing that they had the capability to hit America if they wanted to, (though they lacked the manpower by then to follow it up) which caused a peace agreement to be signed and then the cold war which the book is based in.

Im fairly sure that the Germans had nuclear capability but didnt want to deal with the fallout of using it. (pardon the pun)

I suggest the german nuclear missiles on heart of Reich !! the rebels can hits the installation !

the bug of Spain is very odious and unrealistic...

I suggest more effective the spies...the change to obtain coup d'etat on the world is the best for cold war scenarios...

Quote:
date = { day = 14 month = may year = 1950 }
offset = 1
deathdate = { day = 30 month = december year = 1950 }

0 offset will have the effect of pausing the game strangely.

As the interest in this mod seems to be growing again, I have started to get back to work. My time is very limited at the moment, that´s why it will take some time, but I will at least try to bring this back to life...

I can not promise you anything, as the whole mod seems very buggy and doesn´t work properly with things that should work.
That means, somewhere in the huge stack of files there is an error that courses problems. If anyone has the patience to look for this error, I would be glad. I don´t have enough time to do this.

Maybe someone could use the parser included inside the HoI-Editor by Jamie550 to search for errors in the minister files. (I don´t have .NET Framework 3.5, why it doesn´t work for me).

Furthermore, General Grant offered me to take the leading-role in this project, as he is very busy on making his "A Peace to end all peaces"-mod.
If you are still interested (and it seems so, as I can see), I will accept his offer.

In this case, my first step is: Hiring you all.
I want you to participate, even if you don´t have modding skills. You can make proposal, gather Pictures (for example for divisions, brigades, ship types) and model-names.
Either you place them here or in the forum, I´ll check out both.

The next steps on the development list are:
-Improving the combat system (I always preferred long and casualty-intensive combat) -> Unit stats, land doctrines...

-gathering and including the model-related pictures and names you give to me

-making some more events (here you can also help me with some good ideas)

-improving AI (i´d be glad to see somebody who is more experienced in this field helping me)

-some changes in the scenario-setup, to make the game more balanced and interesting
(Pushing Spain out of the Axis, more troops at the beginning, ...)

I hope that someone will help, otherwise I guess my engagement will soon decline again - I won´t do this alone.

Greetings
Black Guardian

I wanted to contact you again Black Guardian but I had no time.

It is with a great confidence in your ability to lead this project somewhere than I give you the lead of it. However I reserve myself a 'word to say' in the general storyline, and I'll make a few events and suggest ideas when I'll have the time.

I have uploaded the mod with all its attached update, and the work I did on it after the last release. However I don't remember if I included your last work.

http://rapidshare.com/files/96192014/Fatherland_latest_version.rar.html

Small technocal note: I have changed all the offset = 0 to offset = 1 since im sure it was the cause of some freezes. Maybe try a game with it to see if its stable?

Oh and by the way archita, you can play after 1964, but there is no events done forward to this date.

the DOW ( Declaration of War ) by France is interesting for the gameplay ;)

However, it is better France outside USA Alliance...otherwise it becomes impossible to achieve peace ! :(

France is not accepting the peace even with all the occupied africa !!!

However it is interesting African war :)

more effective the spies...more coups d'etat !

I suggest Event : "Russia annex Soviet Union"

This will prevent the bug of spain or not?
