I mean, it can't, right?

Mid-war, with me to boot, the Ottomans gain this event. Alright, alright, that's all fine and dandy - but Crimea also had three vassals. Theodoro, Trebizond and Circassia, which are all transferred to the overlord, the Ottomans. So now in an instant the Ottos earned four subjects because of an event.

What do you guys think of the event? Is it positive flavour, or do you think it should be removed?

Makes no sense the subjects become independent. If they paid tribute to the Khan and the Khan now is a vassal of Ottomans, or they should stay as vassal of the Khan, resulting in a CK2 web which was removed from EU4 due to some very weird scenarios, or pay directly to the Ottomans, after all, the new overlord is much more stronger than the old one.

That or this event be removed, which would be better.

Glad to see you're fixing it, thanks. It shouldn't happen mid-war either.

But I'd prefer it if the event was just outright removed instead. It gives a large plot of land for free which gives the Ottos a stepping stone into Russia. Historical or not, it's an awful event that is too strong.

It also means that warring with Crimea early game can be russian roulette as suddenly Ottomans inherit a free defensive war against you.

Not sure whether that is intended.

Agreed. They should stay a vassal of Khanate.

Actually this event is pretty balance-breaking on it's own. If Ottos will get a free march PLC / Russia can just forget about expansion in that area. Crimean Khanate is nothing, but Ottomans are so absurdly overpowered that even PLC + Russia wouldn't be enough. So first thing we should do is actually balancing Ottomans. They start game OP and later still are OP. They never fade right now. Pre-institutions they always declined due to tech penalty, right now they NEVER decline. 2 pips less in unit quality, but they have super OP NIs, powerful religion bonuses, powerful events (janissaries) and also Lucky Nation bonuses. So they have 2x more soldiers than few next GPs COMBINED. And they also get free march?! No, no, no, I just disagree.

I like the event actually, as I kind of like a scary Ottomans, but this is indeed a problem. I think the event either shouldn't fire if Crimea is at war or that they should auto-white peace as soon as they become a vassal.

EDIT: Just thin about it, even better would be it fires, than Ottomans gives an enforce peace demand to the attacker, so if it's a player there is a choice whether to fight or accept the white peace. Not sure whether this is mechanical possible though.

I want to hear what is the reason behind this event. It messes a lot with balance in region creating abominational ahistorical allies (like Ottomans+Russia, while Russia would NEVER ally someone who uses their vassal to raid lands). It gives a lot of free power to Ottomans (which are already strong to the level of OP). And it is also wasn't THAT determined.

Why won't you remake event for full annexation of MAM, so Ottomans will be 100% railroaded into their destiny.
