The problem is that mercantilism is probably one of the worst modifiers in game. Florry even increased it as a punishment...

It is only a negative if the country has CNs. Aragon campaigns tend to be not that colonial (because else one would play Castile).

Or use the monopoly privleiges and papal influence

If I understand OP correctly, this way gives 100 Mercantilism instantly.

I think I'm missing an important detail in this particular exploit/technique... I don't think I've played as Aragon/Genoa... ever - so I suspect there's a knowledge gap.

But it sounds like you can get 'exclusive trading privileges' revokes on a technicality through merchant placement and then reissue the trade rights ad infinitum... or until you've done it 34 times. Right?
I often play as a coloniser, so this will be something for 'off run' (assuming no nerfing happens in the mean time)....

Congratulations... I think.

0. Start As Aragon/England/Mamluks. These countries have more 1)50% trade power in their captial and 2)have other proper place to move their capital.

1. Move your capital(200 adm) or trading port(200 dip) To Genoa
(for Renaissance I usually move capital)

IF So, You will lose Your Trading power where the place your capital was.

2. Second, Select Trader Rights

3.Wait for 1 Month

I Lost my Trader Right because valancia has no trade power.
4. Collect trade Power in valancia.

5.wait For 6 Days.

6. Select Trader Rights(Gain 3 mercantilism Again For Free)

7. Recall mechant From valancia And palce other merchant To valancia

Turn Back To 5

It is actually quite good after estates rework since mercantilism increases Burgher loyalty equilibrium.

Nah, since you want to weaken your estates ASAP 5% doesn't make a difference when your goal is 90% crownland and their inluence will be beyond 30 for the most of the game.

It is actually quite good after estates rework since mercantilism increases Burgher loyalty equilibrium.

It isn’t bad, it isn’t very significant, even at 100% in most cases. The modifiers just aren’t that great and the biggest one, local trade power gets less important as you get bigger and more able to control trade nodes so by the time you build up your trade power it’s value is much decreased.

Certainly at 100 monarch points per point it is absurdly overpriced.

But if you could get 100 mercantilism early at a much lower cost it could be pretty valuable. That said, 200 monarch points is a fair number early game and could significantly delay your development so I don’t know if it is worth it, but it would certainly be worth considering.

Alternate 100 Mercantilism
- Have a single Glass Province with > 15 dev, and no Gems. (Venice doesn't count, sorry)
- Grant Monopoly on Glass
- Get the Faceting event (Embrace Rennaisance, have >50 Prestige)
- Before you click the event, open the Burghers Privilege list
- Let the event change your Glass to Gems, wait a day
- Glass monopoly autodrops, BUT you can still grant it again as long as the menu is open. No money, but +1 Mercantilism

This would also get you a shit ton of money, wouldn't it? Theoretically infinite as long as you could keep that screen open.

Couldn't you also do this in any other instance where you kept the privilege screen open after losing your last province with a specific trade good?

Nah, since you want to weaken your estates ASAP 5% doesn't make a difference when your goal is 90% crownland and their inluence will be beyond 30 for the most of the game.

Loyalty means easy seizing of crownland and constant burgher buffs, including dev discounts. Also in MP no one cares about crownland much and milking estates for all their privileges and bonuses is the way to go.

So these are exploits. Which means now that they are posted PDS will soon nerf the mechanics into the ground, throw dirt on top, and pee on the mound.
