Actually neither. I speak tamil, which is south indian/dravidian. Hindi is a north indian/aryan language. Urdu is a hybrid language, its script is Perso-Arabic while its vocabulary was borrowed from the sanskrit derivatives of northern india(sanskrit being the latin of india).
Hindi and Urdu are basically the same language with different scripts..Hindi uses Devanagri script like Nepali and Marathi, while Urdu uses a Persian Script.
Since Cakravarti does not speak one of them it means he is a really great guy! Why? Well Hindi/Urdu (together known as Hindustani) is the language of the devil!!!! Yup! I know, because I have been forced to study it for the last 4 years! I took a break and did Bengali for a while... what a relief! Hindustani is all mixed up because it is a synthesis of perseo-arabic and sanskritic words and grammar! (Also it is the imperialist language in the subcontinent today!!!
Dravidian languages on the other hand are super cool, just like Cakravarti!
