Is the Far East(Nippon,China, etc.) going to be improved in EU2?China and Nippon DO NOT need to be improved because they already win to easily and same with korea. But Thailand(i forgot the name they use in IGC) and Dai Viet could use some improvement. They both start with no knowledge of any center of trade except the really poor Edo in Nippon. But I was thinking that they could start with knowledge of either New Dehli or Tianjin?Just something to think about. Also, are they going to add a Khmer(Cambodian) empire?

Hmm, that idea of modernizing China gives me head ache every time i think about it  Of course, it would be nice, but it is very easy to cross line beyond which every country becomes generic.

I would love to have "playable" far eastern nations. That is, have them be as detailed as the European nations. But then you'd have to change the name of the game...
Anyway, I'll just stay here and keep dreaming about how id run Japan...

Who are you telling this to? To Paradox?

Then your suggestion is misplaced. Paradox did not make the IGC. So don't blame them about what goes on in the IGC.

Paradox only made the original EU game. And if you play the original EU grand campaign as designed by Paradox, then you would realize that the Far Eastern countries are not "too strong" as you say.

If you feel that the Far Eastern countries are too strong, then complain to the makers of the IGC scenario.

And yes, I do somewhat agree with you. In the IGC those countries are way too strong. Their economies are far greater than most of the Europeans. And they usually can build mighty fortresses way before any Europeans can. This is an unhistorical imbalance

Also,it is not unhistorical that China has better economics then the European countries because China was very advanced during medieval times. They did invent gunpowder but not as a weapon.they invented it to celebrate their festivals.

It wouldn't be generic if paradox modeled the modernization aspect of the game well enough. For example if they can realistically, to a certain degree, model the difference in problems between say the Chinese, compared to the French, would have faced had they tried to mordernize then I dont see why it would become generic.

"You're dreaming, general" ;) I agree it would be nice then, but i don't believe EU is able to simulate such subtle differences, given that only things you can do about internal policiy is to slide your Dom. Policy sliders. Unless they crunch every drop of oil out of event engine, or have some mind-blowing feature we don't know of, there is no way they can simulate differences between problems China and France faced....

I don't speak Malaysian or Mandarin, but I wish they would include the Majapahit Empire (aka Sri Vijaya empire) in the game.

of course, it would be great if they also added the Sultanate of Jolo (since one of my parents is from the Philippines), and the Jolo sultanate was one of the few rich kingdoms in the Philippine-Malaysian islands at the time of the Spanish arrival

Playing the Sultanate of Jolo would be fun, because history records show that they were rich and made plenty of money by supporting pirates ;)

Chinese cannon were used by the Mongols when they try to conquer the world. It spread to the Muslim who spread it to the Europeans.
When the Portugese reached China, they don't have a firearm advantage.

Actually, they did-the Chinese never got the hang of projectile rather than firework weapons, and by the time that the Portuguese reached China many of these weapons had fallen into disuse, either through lack of need or lack of training. Europeans had a firepower advantage until the nineteenth century, when western arms traders really got going.

The Chinese first invented gunpowder in the Tenth Century, and Europeans were using it in the 1300s. Cannon saw their first use in Western Europe at the Battle of Crecy between the French and English in 1347 (the English had the cannon there, by the way, having seen the Muslims using them in Spain a few years before)
