there is a forgotten genre of game that I think the paradox could work, the GOD GAME, the game wheres the player acts as a god and need to manage the world.

i think in games like Black and white created by Lionhead, back in the eralier 00s

imagine something like this using mechanics from other paradox games.
the game does not need to use a random generated scenario, a nice well write, pre determined scenario could work even better.

Fantasy is boring. Please no Sci Fi and Star Wars/Trek boring games. Some more Grandstrategy History games.

We're not going to stop doing historical games, but the idea is to do more games, grow the company and range of games we offer. I mean it's not a secret that I want us to do a real Rome game either. Our biggest problem right now is finding people to make all of these awesome new games, we can only scale up so fast within PDS, and outside of us.. there aren't many companies out there that have demonstrated a talent for grand strategy games.

Agreed, we need a god game, unfortunately it's not within my segment of strategy, falls under management games so we'll just have to wait for them to decide to do one. :(

If it's no secret that you want a real Rome game, I'll make it no secret that I'd be interested in buying one, preferably something that doesn't start out in the Imperial period, but ends up there (or better yet, MIGHT end with Rome taking the road to Empire, but doesn't have to).

The requirements for a decent fantasy game are way different than for a historical grand strategy game: more of a tactical or individual-oriented approach than what Paradox has done so far, otherwise it just becomes a generic strategic wargame with fantasy skins. With a grand strategy game, whether you call them Elves or Byzantines only matters for aesthetics, and has no significant effect on gameplay at that level of abstraction, aside from "modifiers". It would probably take a mostly new team with totally different approaches to game development than what's been done in the current IPs to develop something that's NOT at that scale, like the rest of the Paradox IPs. Rome sounds like a much less ambitious stretch.
