Fantasia Scenario Done - from 1920-1980.

I have made a fantasia scenario for my own consumption. Every single country has zero tech plus I have made nuclear research very expensive.

I have used the time limit patch. You can easily redo one by editing out the apps for each country in the DB file of your scenario. Make sure you change the dates in the global inc file also from your start and end date. As for making the tech more expensive- you simply go into the DB tech file and add the appropriate cost for each advance in each tech field.

I would submit the file for download if I get enough requests and someone willing to host the file.

If someone wants to help out for events during that time frame - that would be welcomed also. Also suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks Procer,

I have been playtesting for a few games - and the weirdest thing happen - of course you don't have the oil to rubber conversion tech so you hurt for rubber - but after you discover the conversion tech - it seems that it does not make a difference and your industry is not converting oil to rubber.

Can anyone in Paradox shed light on this? Or perhaps the conversion tech should be left in at the start?

Nice work on the scenario.

I wonder if the problem is not a hard-coded thing found in longer scenarios. It may be a problem related to the way nations make trades on the WM?

aesop: What happens to the techs? Are they date sensitive? Or do they still show up?

I'm wondering if extending the research times would help out.

I like the extended dates. I am sure this will be something we can build upon. . .

Fed,

I just did a simple erase for each nation's techs. Everybody starts at zero. Later, when the game is further patched, I'll actually change alignments and adjust ICs and tech costs.

Did nothing to adjust tech tree right except for nuclear research -

It's just something fun to play with but I'll make adjustments if there is greater interest doen the road.

Gotta have something to play with while waiting for your mod
:D

Have you run any test games yet?

It would be interesting to see what develops.

I just incorporated almost 100 NEW events into Total War. I'm going to run a couple of tests, and I'll email you the files so you can run a few more tests for me :)

OK... the files are available for download at RTW's Download Section ===HERE===.

I put everything into a single zipped file called fantasia.zip and versioned it as "Test Version". I left your descriptions. Maybe you should write a readme.txt file with more details to be inlcuded in the zip file along with instructions on how to install this mod and the requirements (such as the No Time Limit patch).

Notice: the two folders in the zipped file usedf to be the two zipped files which i merged into the single fantasia.zip.

Thx again for the contribution! :)

Fed,

Yes I did, Germany is it's usual expansion but all non-rubber producing countries get hit with their ICs when they have depleted their ruber. Either by trading at generous prices to get rubber, being a country that has rubber, or conquering territories with rubber, or researching the needed tech for conversion - without this - you will be in pretty bad shape-everyone was competing for extra rubber in the world market.

The German and Italian ai gets killed as it could not produce enough ICs for supplies due to lack of rubber. If the human plays England or France - it's cakewalk for now but for Germany it is challenging to try to develop your research and get the rubber resource at the same time - the initial force set-up is that of the 1936 scenario.

Germany usually gets killed after 1923 or 24. With a human player, you'll have the edge even if the techs are even and you are at a resource disadvantage because you have the more skilled leaders.

Lack of rubber and poor trading on the WM are the same problems that can be found in longer scenarios such as the 1936 scenario.

I think Bolt found a solution for this, so you may want to make a fix similar to what he did.

I am hoping the next patch will include fixes along these lines. . .
