Looks tasty.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and I shall consider them food"

"Don't you mean give them food?"

"I meant what I said"

I went life seeded as fanatical purifier. Only took as many systems as I could maintain star bases. Built up a big navy and killed the first AI as soon as I encountered them. Instantly send any pops on conquered worlds back to the capital, soon as the war is done destroy any residual outposts. Go exploring for the next guy. Repeat. I think I was done fighting about 20 years before I took a picture. I just wanted to be sure no AI's were hiding anywhere.

It was just on a small galaxy. I could try on a bigger one.

4 enforcer buildings were needed to restore order. Great khan sadly rolled over me 5 years later.

Oh I see now. You're taking advantage of the fact only one pop can decline at a time per planet to amass a huge number of pops. Makes some sense.

The funny part is how crime shoots up at 100% and you're left with a real problem.

Pops that are being purged shouldn't count toward stability unless the designers expect you to resettle tons of pops as enforcers.

Purging seem quite nice in the current version. I guess starting a game with 5x primitives is the way to go if you want to make your game as easy as possible.
I reverse purged a purifier as an inward perfection empire in the last game I tried as I already had a livestock species. I got no unity but the food and minerals were nice.
The galaxy hates me now but who cares what barbarians think.

It makes sense to me, and is probably more realistic than stuffing a bajillion purge targets onto one planet and have them all producing too.

Purging would be more "realistic" if you had to use a pop (master race or robotic) to actually perform the purging. Like, for each 2(or whatever) xeno scum pops there would be a job for your space elves with greatly increased affinity(ruler-level or even higher). No elves available? Sorry, purging would be 10x slower and wouldn't produce any resources.
