I take a short break and I miss @coz1 and his time in the sun, belated congratulations indeed to a very richly deserved winner.

And of course congratulations to our new and deserving winner @Historywhiz

Alright, so not five minutes after reading that I won this award last week, I was already thinking of whom I could give it away to! This has been a really tough decision because there are currently so many active and engaged posters in the AAR community that a relative newcomer like me struggles to identify the ones receiving their fair share of praise from the ones that could use a bit more recognition.

I will note that I believe that there are many deserving long-time members who are getting to the point where their names should be coming back into contention; the search software informs me that luminaries like @Nikolai, @Idhrendur, @Specialist290, @DensleyBlair, and @El Pip have all not received this award in almost a year now, despite their past few months of output comprising a significant chunk of the combined meditations of the commentAARiat. Hopefully they will receive their due relatively soon.

For now though, in the same spirit which that excellent man @coz1 nominated me to reward first-time winners, I wanted to continue it on by nominating someone who had not won before. This proved to be difficult. Indeed the past few days of trawling through everything from Imperator to Steel Division have shown me that the majority of writAARs on this forum only post within their own stories, and although many of them are certainly familiar with the writings of others, they do not meaningfully interact beyond the occasional granting of a like. There were several times when I wanted to give the award to one of these persons, just to give them a “kick in the pants,” as it were, but that seemed too gauche.

In the end though, I did find a candidate who to my knowledge has not won this award before despite long service on the forums, and one who does both write an excellent AAR of his own (seriously, go check out Wings of Faith, Wings of Fury, it’s great!) and also demonstrate a willingness to come out of his shell and interact with the community at large.

In appreciation and encouragement of this willingness then, and with profuse thanks and praise for everyone who voted for me once again, I hereby announce that the next Fan of the Week is @Superstorm !

Oh wow! A big thank you to you @Historywhiz for the nomination!

The writing certainly has enabled me to come out of my shell a bit, even though I've had to slow down the updates for a time while IRL keeps me busy. The support and good vibes I have got from this massive project have been a big confidence/morale boost and only pushes me to see it through to completion.

A big thank you as well to all who have sent congratulations, the community on the forum has been wonderful and welcoming.

I wish to congratulate @filcat who goes far beyond the expected. He uses every trick: margins, colors, fonts, songs, cartoons. Thank you I realize that you recused, but thanking you for going light-years beyond the expected, never grows old.

It was shocking to learn that @NarcomancerPL had never been FotW. I offer a long overdue congratulations.
