I'm not sure if this has been asked yet, but chances are it may have been covered already.
But I would personally love to see a family tree style thing, a little like the total war series. Because I've found myself wondering quite often, why on earth my child is suddenly heir to Scotland, and no matter how many parents I seem to look through I can't find the source of this miraculous succession (I definitely don't complain about it though).

If CK1 does have it or something like it forgive me, I only just found the "lists/ledger" screen about 4 days ago. (if it does can you tell me where to find it  )

In CK1, you can only go back along the line from ancestor to ancestor. It was a feature of EU Rome to a limited degree, but I also hope it is a feature of CK2.

Doomdark said he can't (won't) confirm or deny the presence or absence of any gameplay feature heretofore referred to as a "family tree" in CK2.

(CK1 doesn't have a family tree. I once tried to use commercial genealogy software to track my Trencavel dynasty game, but their hideous level of inbreeding actually caused the program to crash. Noice.)

I used to do quite a bit of genealogy, so I understand the products out there for family history. I have said before on other threads that it would be nice to be able to export the CK2 save file to GEDCOM (the standard cross-platform file format among genealogists). How did you accomplish it, or did you enter information in directly?

There are is a CK1 mod out there that exports it to a GEDCOM file, IIRC. I think the best family tree type of deal is Dynastic Glory.
