Family members to the Papal/Patriarchal Throne

I ve asked this before but i believe it should have its own thread...
So what are the ways to promote family members to the Papacy or the Ecumenical Patriarchate? And i mean not by creating an Antipope and then invading Rome to set him up as legitimate Pope or vassalizing the Pope (however i wonder if this would work on the Ecumenical Patriarch since he is already the Emperor's vassal)
Is granting them a Bishopric enough to give them a chance to be elected? Or we need to so something more (or something else) to push their candidacy?

You have to have free investiture and then you can just go to the religion screen and nominate your brothers and sons as successors.

Also if you have a Bishopric in your hands you can grant it to your son/brother/nephew/etc.
You can either revoke an existing Bishopric title and give it away or if you have the cash build a new one...

But the main question is how do i make my kinsmen eligible for the Papal/Patriarchal Throne?
