Heyo, I just tried out Reservation. It's sweet, I have an alliance with Polar Station Zeta and Vault 10. Huns, New Reno, Caesar's Legion, and White Legs are allied, really cool!

The Mayans have annexed half Mexico -- Caesar has the other half -- and they annexed New Church which puts them at the eastern border of Reservation. I only wanted to test out that Nuclear Nelly tactical nuke artillery and deplyed the lowest payload, which gave five warheads acting like rockets. A great idea! Now, it's probably because of the lowest payload, but they only killed about 50 people out of more than nine division targets and they all targeted the HQ. I'm going to save up my supplies and monies to try out the higher payloads. Thanks fellows for an awesome mod!

So, uh. Nuka has an event where, if you control the region around their start, the event fires and gives them cores on the region, a couple free divisions, and a dissent reduction. The problem is: to fire the event requires, and gives you a core on, the province of Tuxtla Guiterrez (755), which HAS to be a typo, and in practice means this event never fires.

This one should be reworked now as we know more about the commonwealth of New England and the Capital Wasteland. Perhaps Enclave gets stuff like "the long march"?
I agree, that would be cool, for the long march, it should occur after the fall of the FUSA/Dark Cathedral, assuming they would still exist

Having a bit of a weird issue: when the early events on the code to destroy Polar Station Zeta fires, if I choose to use the code it actually spawns the station.
Is it intended?
Whats the file holding that event?
Would really like to contain that final war.

So that's what happened, it surprised me when NCR, Arroyo dowed me together with a Polar Station Zeta which had 40 Divisions of Improved Regulars.
The event is in the End_Game.txt, it's called "End Game Choice"

That's one scary event file.


UPDATE: Seems the easiest solution is to remove the End_Game event altogether.

I haven't played the mod in a while and decided to DL and install again but when I do the map doesn't have the unique location names such as "Lost Hills" and "The Glow". Is this intentional or have I done something incorrect? Can anyone tell me which version of the mod/DH to use to get the old map?

Hello all, I've been dying to return to this mod for years after I played it a lot in the late 2000's. But after Windows 10 and earlier 8 came out which made playing this difficult, I stopped.

Recently I saw I could get the base game to work fine with vanilla Darkest hour (full), however upon downloading FODD I'd get to the menu and of course be able to choose a faction. But upon trying to load into the scenario it'd crash to desktop.

I tried disabling unit sprites and country specific graphics, didn't change anything.

The DH launcher says I'm in version 1.04.

I'm at a loss of what to do here. I'm on Windows 10.

Update the game, the latest version is 1.05.1.

Their currently working on the 2281 scenario, maybe it'll have some east coast reworks implemented, anyways, we only know of the east coast (in Bethesda canon) about the DC ruins and the Boston area in 2277 and 2287.

I haven't played the mod in a while and decided to DL and install again but when I do the map doesn't have the unique location names such as "Lost Hills" and "The Glow". Is this intentional or have I done something incorrect? Can anyone tell me which version of the mod/DH to use to get the old map?

Shabutie, these names were created by altering the map. We have changed maps since the old DH version, and the E3 map requires practically a super-computer to just load it, so I haven't been able to do anything with the map so far. If only I knew someone with a super-computer, or just someone that can make maps, I could fix this...

But hey, we got more provinces!

But if you really want to play the old vintage version with the old map, you can go to the first post where I keep legacy versions. I believe the moddb links still work. You will need Darkest Hour Patch 1.02 to play it. Make sure to install the hotfixes.


What's the future of the mod looking like? Will we ever get an East Coast Rework?

I may be slow to update, but I don't abandon things I like so easily.
Right now I'm getting back into the mod, and started doing my old "test game and jolt down notes" routine. I spot a lot of mistakes and bugs that way, and well as new ideas.

Right now, plan is find bugs, fix bugs, tinker with balance, revamp tech teams and research, add new nations to fill the map.

I plan on finishing nation-making elsewhere before I get to the East Coast rework. The issue is balancing the classic East Coast scenario with the new games, which I think is totally doable if done right.

Their currently working on the 2281 scenario, maybe it'll have some east coast reworks implemented, anyways, we only know of the east coast (in Bethesda canon) about the DC ruins and the Boston area in 2277 and 2287.

Actually, I'm not. Althrough, I do have some notes jolted down for a Fallout 3-era scenario.

We do know some things about these places before 2277 and 2287.
Honestly, I would rather leave that period to Old World Blues and stick to the classic Fallout era.
If I would make a new scenario, I would rather do 2255, which is the perfect bridge between Classic Fallout and the New Fallouts. Which is the plan, when I finish with 2245.
