Doesn't Stellaris use Clausewitz too? The problem with that engine is that provinces aren't separated. So there are tons of province files with geography, ownership and buildings information on it. In Hoi 2 you had an excel file for geography while ownership was a matter of put the numbers inside a single country file rather than put the country tag inside every province files!

Stellaris does use Clausewitz, but DH uses a heavy modified Europa engine. As far as I know, HoI2 and expansions were the last time Paradox itself used the Europa engine before changing over to Clausewitz (That itself has been modified quite a few times, even if the released games rarely get an update to the engine itself.)

Update: Well, not a real update. True be told, I no longer remember what I was going to do in the mod before I went into hiatus. Anyway, what I do remember was that there was a wild Madagascar in the middle of Yucatan so I may as well address that:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/0mj1my5pe4er7bi/FODD(MINI).rar
Small update:
Given a proper name to "Madagascar" (world_names.csv)
Added proper minister pictures (mad1,mad2,mad3) and proper traits (minus in air)
Granted teach teams to "Madagascar"

- No changes to checksum.

Could you go into a teeny bit more detail as to what the update does (as in who9/what the Madagascar faction is)? I'm not able to install the update for awhile, but i'd still love to know :p
It's a secret... That someone got to appear anyway and was w/o proper name.

I was planing to make it a new faction at game start, but stuff happened and I forgot about it. At the moment there are no events associated to it, but it can appear via rebels or player choice. The original idea was to make them a player on the Yucatan peninsula able to exploit resources not normally available (either via magic sources or developing the land) and capable of fending Mexico off.
At the beginning of the game, MAD was supposed to make a choice between going the classical route (Expand until the river over there and perhaps Puerto Barrios, then develop the land in relative seclusion) or the imperial mode (Essentially land grab mode with human sacrifices and a jingoistic streak. Perhaps xenophobic). The level of tech available to them would be initially tribal, but player choice could lead them to more sophisticated methods under some circumstances (ex: conquer a raider, you gain some of their vehicles and unlock the respective tech. Conquer a machine based faction w/o computer knowledge and you get nothing useful, do so with the required knowledge and you get some tech unlocks and a free robot)
Unfortunately I just haven't found the time to properly balance those events (or adding extra minister and/or unlockable techteams) or create an AI to do what I want it to do, so it more of a "will see" thing than anything else.

Not sure if discussed but fired up the mod, long time since I've last used (noticed there had been updates so DL and installed) and as NCR I can't seem to trade... no matter what I offer trade likelyhood is zero

It's not unusual, people in the wasteland don't like to share, at all

I notice that too.

Early on the AI seems to bombard you and everyone else with trade offers - from normal to downright weird (YES I WILL TRADE MY 20 SUPPLIES FOR YOUR 40 METALS WHAT A FAIR DEAL), but then there's a time you have to offer nearly loopsided offers ("I will give you enough supplies to run a small army... for one unit of money"), or get by scrounging or simply trading lump sums. Sometimes it seems nobody wants to trade. I assume the AI simply has what it wants and doesn't want to trade anything because it either lacks or doesn't have enough stock of certain things yet.

If I remember right the game seems to suffer a energy deficit since some updates ago, I keep running energy deficits even with tech research and conquest. AI seems to cope out with magical bonuses, and having AI allies helps (they sometimes lend a hand).

Btw, money (even just a bit) is a good trade, just pay attention to your research and spying.

And even Caesar's Legion and White Legs?

I thought that they have any relations with Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel factions, Fallout Tactics factions and even unpublished games, such as Van Buren, Fallout Tactics 2, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2, Fallout Extreme, Fallout (PlayStation).

A lot of canon factions did make their way in. Caesar's Legion is one such notable faction. But that was added because (IIRC) when they switched to the E3 map they had a lot more room in Mexico and the west. On the east coast, as you can see with FUSA, they have more or less followed the vision they had when they set out on the mod originally, which happened to predate Fallout 3. I haven't played much in the way of the Fallout games, so you probably know better than I do which ones are canon and which aren't.

By the way, looking back at my post, I'm sorry if it sounded rude. I've been feeling sort of sick lately, but I just wanted to make sure you knew.

Looking on the map there are plenty of area to create events, IC, manpower and resourses to. Even some new factions in empty areas:

East of Seattle: The Issaquah Nation is a post-War country.
They rebuilt the town of Issaquah, Washington,. The Issaquah Nation was to appear in the canceled Fallout Extreme.
Detail about Seattle: One of its major landmarks is the Space Needle, which seems to have survived the War

Attis Army area in western Texas: Attis Army is one of the two most important offshoots of the Master's Army, along with the Gammorin's Army, led by an old important commander of the Master's Army called Attis.

Mid-West brotherhood of steel: Maybe not make a third brotherhood nation, but maybe an event for capturing it as western or eastern brotherhood and create some IC and stuff in the area. Same with the northern Texas brotherhood bunkers.

I'm not dead, folks!
Time to refresh people on news:

Good news:
- Have already moved. In a few days I will have been here for a month.
- Fixed our little netbook, had to buy a keyboard, mouse and USB hub for it. Worth every penny.
- Got some work done regarding a little thing I want to launch to cheer the people and keep the flame burning: A optional download soundtrack expansion. Excellent ambiental music from many good composers I know through the web - Angels of Despair, Nobody's Nail Machine, Xcentric Noizz, Romanus Surt, and maybe more.
- Internet will be installed in a week.

Bad news:
- I lost a lot of my old notes for several ideas I had. I did a backup shortly before my computer died, and by backup what I really mean is that I spent a entire day burning DVDs because I lacked a external HD at the time. I think I burned like fifty DVDs. Maybe a hundred. Because stuff happened and I straight out freaked out, thinking my hd was gonna die (it would, but the power source bit the dust first lol)
But these notes are two or three months older than my most current files, currently in a dead (or undead) hard-drive. Know when your HD starts to make *that* noise, and the wisdom of the ancients says your HD is already dead?
- My netbook has a 1024x600 screen resolution. That means that AFAIK, the only Paradox game I can play is For The Glory (and I think I had some success modding CK and Victoria to smaller resolutions, but it was crap). And I had to give my monitor to my father, as I lacked space to stash it.
- I don't even space for a proper pc or anything like that. That means until I find a way to bypass this or buy another notebook, I will have no way of playing and testing this mod.
- Right now, I have a civil service exam I must study to.
- That means that untiI have some cash (and time), I cannot play or mod FODD.
- gib moni or I report u donate to my patreon No, you can't donate to my patreon. Whatever that is. This mod is labour of love.
- Right now, my estimation of when I will get back to modding is "next year".

What about New England Commonwealth and Institute with other Fallout 4 fractions?

I have... plans for them. I was talking to someone about this on MPs so that didn't get lost like a lot of my other notes when my HD died.

I actually have two ideas for them, but this is far in the future.

What about them? There is only one province - Boston and Fallout 4 ( year 2287 ) takes 42 years later when the mod starts.

Actually there are like two or three, maybe four provinces in the E3 map that appear in FO4 - I think it was Boston, Concord and Lexington.

Helpful for events: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Factions

And where you get information about mexican states + spider state and other? From Fallout games for PlayStation?

Thanks!

Original factions.

You do realize this mod was made before Fallout 3, let alone Fallout 4 or New Vegas, right?

A lot of the factions and events in the game are original material.

Indeed. We haven't even finished all the Van Buren material we planned to add.

And even Caesar's Legion and White Legs?
(PlayStation).

Looking on the map there are plenty of area to create events, IC, manpower and resourses to.

Anyone who knows anything about certain areas of the EUA - say, resources of the area that exist, existed and preferably resources that might have not been all tapped out before the Great War - is greatly welcome to help. Local perspective is best perspective.

Right now, once I can get back to modding, the plan is to expand horizontal rather than vertical - create a lot of new nations we got in the plans, from West to East. We were beginning to do it in the previous updates.

Attis Army area in western Texas: Attis Army is one of the two most important offshoots of the Master's Army, along with the Gammorin's Army, led by an old important commander of the Master's Army called Attis.

I have other plans for Attis - who is a quite cool character. See, Attis never found the Secret Vault in this timeline. He got tired at a wild goose chase and eventually found his back to the Mutant Army in the Midwest. He will be a important part of the Mutants' main event chain when we get to it.

Good for the people of the Secret Vault, who emerged into the wasteland and created their settlement, Innovation Peak. Another nation planned for the future.

There is something else, too... but, one thing at a time.

The east BoS in game is the midwestern brotherhood. There's no brotherhood presence any further east at the start date.

There are plans (going back from Sword of Justice) to jump the start date ahead to a "new" scenario 2255, Scourging of the Pitt.
