I've been playing Rome for awhile now and am around the year ~515. I started as this middle-level country in the east, something like Borospan Kingdom (Sorry, I chose solely for location so I'm not sure of spelling). I feel like I'm -way- behind in terms of tech and feel like I'm just sitting around watching the days tick by pretty often.

This is the first time I've gotten this far into an EU game. Any games before always ended up with me getting distracted by something else. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm having a really great time with this nation and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to play a mid-power, but I don't want to feel high-and-mighty only to get owned later on in the game :p

So far I've only achieved one tech improvement, namely in Construction, and that was only because I had two events that added 500 each to it. The rest of my techs haven't even gotten to 1, but that doesn't seem like too away from the norm in the game so far. Is this something I should really worry about or do you guys think I'll end up ok?

I think tech gain is not working correctly.

Not sure what the deal is, but increasing the amount of research points that citizens give fixes the issue, at least until a future patch takes care of it.

Alternately, in the technology file under common you can tweak the tech group rates - I bumped them all from 1.0 to 1.3 and things seem much better now.
