Don't Fallen Empires warn you before they attack? They demand you give up certain territory or they will attack sort of thing.....
I donno, I've avoided being attacked myself so far.
And my only war is one I just started recently.
They crushed my fleet of about 10 k strength but me and my fellow federation members took out about 30 k of them in the process.
We're still have slightly lower war score then them (-20) but I expect to come out winning in the end.
(Every ship I make has a power of about 1 k)
My main problem is just that making them takes time...

I just hope they fix the exploit that you can goad FEs into attacking be making a single sacrificial colony, then destroy one of their ships during combat before surrendering to get salvage for their tech.

They should add a "remove salvage" demand for peace negotiations which FEs always enforce which removes all salvage from their ships.

You really don't need their salvaged tech to win them. I've kicked their asses more than once without salvaging their tech actually.

Its not about winning against them, it is about securing the tech research for their uber weapons early(-ish) game with minimal losses to be used against other empires.

I really hope Paradox do not nerf FEs. They add fun to this game. There should perhaps be an option to start a game with no FEs but keep the end game dangerous please.

If anything I'd like to see FEs become more powerful.

This. I really hope that Fallen Empires can actually "wake up" from their fallen state. It really gives me the chills just imagining Fallen Empires waking up to fight end game crises.

did not know they have a dyson sphere.
do fallen empires only exist on large galaxy's?
Nope, even a 150 star galaxy can have Fallen Empires, it just depends on the number of normal empires.
With only one normal AI empire, there will be 2 or 3 FE.
With 8 empires, it's 0 - 1 FE.

1000 star galaxy.
0 Fallen Empires :( (And 29 AI empires I think it was?)
They frequently won't spawn on ring galaxies due to the narrow nature of them; the placement algorithm doesn't see a large enough spawning spot usually.

Also, to those who kick those who have fallen and can't get up, try this: Fallen Empires: A comprehensive guide

Fallen Empires are one of the coolest things in the game. Everything about their tone and atmosphere is perfect, reminding me of the empire in the Foundation series before collapse, complete with ancient powerful technology they barely understand or remember how to use.

I lived peacefully next to a Fallen Empire (the type that'll theoretically smash you if you settle a holy Gaia world). An ally settled one of their holy worlds and they didn't do anything about it. Not sure the threshold for that...

I would like to see Fallen Empires have the chance to reawaken in the late game for various reasons (does this happen?). I love the idea of fallen empires and would like even more out of them.

They cannot rebuild ships. Every single ship they lose really hurts them in the long run. They are dying super powers. They are meant to be beasts. Not OP.

They'll respawn in limited amounts by event, check out the guide in my signature for the details.

It's as designed and if anything they should be stronger.

The only problem is that the Xenophobic FE can be undiscovered until you are already too near them and when they make contact get smacked back to the stone age. Otherwise they are good.

Pop an embassy on the FE and you're good. I really don't understand why people have such difficulty with Militant Isolationists. I've had -100 due to border friction and never been attacked due to my embassy. Just never recall that embassy as it's your ticket to safety.

If your fleet is only 10K, you most likely JUST entered the mid-game (~60 hours in on a "Large" galaxy). Fallen Empires shouldn't be a consideration for conquest until at LEAST the early-late game (another 60-70 hours) by which time you should have multiple 100k fleets (which may very well be under-powered compared to your rivals).
