Playing TFH 4.02 as Germany.

It's April 1940, and I've launched the invasion of Denmark/Norway. However, my army can't cross the Balts towards Copenhagen from the mainland because a Polish ship is there.

I've tried running sorties through there with my Kriegsmarine (which easily destroyed the Danish fleet) but it cannot engage this Polish ship. I sent aircraft in to bomb it, they hit nothing. The ship just sits there, preventing my armies from crossing from the mainland.

I know I could just do amphibious/airborne assault of Copenhagen, but I don't want to do that. I'm pretty sure this is a glitch (I've heard people talk about indestructible Polish submarines after they form a GiE). Could someone please tell me how to edit this ship out of the game? I'm completely new when it comes to this sort of thing, so as much detail as possible would be much appreciated :)

Thanks!

Been there, done that.
One way (slightly experimental) is to park a transport ship of your own fleet there by this you should be able to move your troops to pass by over your ship (strangly but it works) to the other side of the straight. But I dont know if this works in combat. I have done it in a non combat situation.

The alternative would be to edit the polish ship out from your save file.:)
But you have to find the sea province in your save file and there you will find the ship.

Alternatively, and easier, load the game but play as Poland, dismiss the ship, save resign and reload that save, but this time choose Germany

If you do this, DO NOT start the game clock for even a second while playing as Poland. The AI will royally screw up your previous country completely in your absence, reassigning Theaters as it sees fit, Strategically Redeploying units seemingly at random, breaking trade deals, enacting laws and decisions that are contrary to your goals, and it may take hours to straighten out the mess, if you even can.

You can do the same thing by using the command line to "tag switch" between countries. Press the "~" (tilde) key to open the command console, then type in "tag POL" (don't type the " marks). Delete the unit, then type "tag GER" to return to running Germany. This works 99% of the time, although in a few rare cases it's created "fog of war" issues. Same warning applies: DO NOT start the clock, or else you're better off reloading the last save and trying it again.

You are right.
But one has to bear in mind that then the AI will sort of play Germany at least for one tick game time.;)

This may greatly impact your game because when you go back to play germany you have a gazillion of orders you have to cancel.

This happened to me a couple of times when I tried to do a similar thing which involved playing for one tick another country and then going back to the previous country.

True, I did it once, to have the republicans win the Spanish civil war after I supported them, and even though I never unpaused, I had a lot of work when I got back to my nation.
Honestly I think some of the AI choices were done to piss me off.

But it is a dirty and easy solution and probably less of a problem than trying to go though a savegame to look for the offending ship

simple tag switching from Germany to Poland (` --) tag POL, find sea tile, delete ship ---) tag GER), deleting the ship, and then switching back to Germany shouldn't allow the AI to do anything wonky to your country - the game might crash, but so far I've never suffered any ill effect. Just be sure not to unpause.
