When playing EU4 at 1366 x 768 (I know, it's not the most Pro-legit resolution) my Army window is completely obscured by the siege window. I can work around this by selecting 'Select Army'. I also find that at 1366 x 768, the siege window is a bit, large.

Dat map.jpg

I hope Paradox patches the game to allow it to work on 1366 x 768 displays functionally.

(EDIT: I am using a laptop, so Monitor changes are not very practical)

I'm playing at 1366x768 and the screens are the same for me as well, though I'm not sure if not being able to select/see the army window is intentional or not.

I wonder if this will become an issue.

1366x768 is quite the modern resolution of most laptops, not a common or even a proper desktop monitor resolution. If you don't have anything useful to say don't say anything at all, after all this doesn't really concern you does it?

Look into getting a modern monitor :/

Forgive me for using a laptop, although I guess I should have mentioned that. My Desktop PC has a much better resolution, however I do a considerable bit of traveling, and I don't have a lot of time for using it. My laptop gets much more usage and thus the reason I plan to play EU4 on it. I hope you can understand my good fellow.

@wombat:I meant no disrespect...
Most games these days are made for 1080p resolution, as you know. Hopefully a steamworks mod or manual file change can be figured out to change UI scale in full release.

It seems that the UI is a problem for many people. For a few it's to big (playing in lower resolutions) and for a few it's to small (mainly the text in high resolutions). A solution would be to create 3 UIs. But this is a lot of work. I don't know, if the developers use some kind of editor to place the GUI elements. If one exists, it would help if they release it, so the community can change the UI easier.

It might be true, however, the current most common monitor resolution is 1366x768. Over a quarter of internet users use 1366x768, and only 6,52% of internet user use 1920x1080.
(source : http://gs.statcounter.com/#resolution-ww-monthly-201207-201307 )

yes, I know that those data are taken from internet user, not gamers, but it is still a valid reason to fix the UI doesn't it?

*yes, I'm having the same problem

True. But UIs also can be improved. If we can have the best of both worlds... why keep people who can't hook their laptops onto a monitor aside? ;)

PS: having the same problem.

Sure laptops can be plugged into monitors, I don't have a monitor to plug it in to, don't plan on getting one or even want to as I don't have enough space on my desk.
Whether it's true or not I don't know, but I very much doubt that "most games these days are made for 1080p resolution", Not everyone has a good enough PC, even a proper PC and not a laptop mind you, to run every single game on 1080p.

So why am I "angry"? It's because you're suggesting options that are beyond my ability to act on. And whether intentional or not, you're giving off this feeling of "well if you can't do it sucks for you." I'm not gonna buy a new PC desk, a monitor, or heck even a new computer. Why? Obviously because I can't afford to and am quite content with what I have.

UIs and the like, all of the resolutions need love, not just a few.

I have a 1366x768 monitor for my desktop PC, and have the same UI issues in the demo. All the other Paradox games I played like Vicky 2 and Crusader Kings 2 are fine UI wise, but EU4 seems big and intrusive. Really hope something can be done to change the UI scale, because shelling out £100 or so for a different resolution monitor, just for this game is out of the question. All other games support my resolution at a reasonable UI size, and I read somewhere that 1366x768 is the most commonly used screen size.

I went back and played some Crusader Kings 2, and I must say, the UI fits so very nicely in that game. Don't get me wrong, I love the UI for EU4 and I find it quite well organized for the most part, But it just seems a little too large in some respects (Siege windows, Army windows, The main bar across the top).

I mentioned that in my first post. It can easily be worked around, BUT that doesn't negate the fact that the UI is rather cumbersome at resolutions such as 1366 x 768.

Isn't that why there is a select province and select army button? I don't see the problem o_O?

People with higher resolution can do both. They can see their armys right away, or go for more info and use the select army button. This is NOT fair in MP, the guy with the 1366x768 will take a while longer to be able to see key information in the middle of sieges.

PDS PLEASE PLEASE fix this -_-. I'm watching Quill's stream right now and it's so much more convenient on higher res than 1366x768.

Am I the only one who plays paradox games in windowed mode?, they are the best windowed mode games going around, allowing you do hopefully get some work done while you sink 15 hours of the day into it. Also why are people responded with get a higher resolution monitor? This is clearly a bug in their UI sizing and will have to be fixed, else why offer that resolution at all.
