Not always an option and if it's "Equivalent" across the board then I'm expecting an even fight.
Then you are supposed to get somebody - anybody - to fight on your side. That is why they added the "invite to war" feature/moved it out of Federations.

Yes but the ability for an Empire to take another on 1v1 in an even fight with "Equivalent" across the board should be a no brainer. It shouldn't lead to such mismatches. It's not that the point is that you should wait or find allies. It's that this rating is misleading.

Equivalent means: 50% chance you will loose.
I agree the display should be a lot more detailed. Like at least showing the first two digits of the Fleetpower. Or ideally just showing the Fleet Power. But right now, Equivalent means you should not pick a fight without help.

Oh I agree with all of that. It's just that Equivalent isn't really defining an "equivalent" pairing at the moment
