Failure to start game

I've downloaded the game but it won't start. When I try to start the game from Steam a start-up window appear, but disappears immediately.

I've tried the various fixes mentioned here, but nothing helps.

I'm running on Windows 10 with Norton Internet Security.

When trying to start the game by running directly from CK2game.exe I get a program error: 0xc000007b.

That error usually means missing Visual C++ files.

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ _CommonRedist\DirectX\ and run dxsetup.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ _CommonRedist\vcredist\ and run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe

I tried this yesterday, and again today but the result is the same.

I found the files in question in \ _CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and \ _CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\, but I assume this is of no importance.

I still get the same error.
