I downloaded core .022 since I don't have dd and started a game as the soviet union.My quesiton is why can't I build factories?The game seems to be missing some tech team pics too.Some of the tech team pics are wrong like fleet carriers---its got a picture of an early submarine lol.Is there a patch or something I'm missing?

The USSR can build factories once it researches the 1939 light industry, IIRC (as they're only semi-industrial - changed in 0.3 though). As to the graphics, they really were at a backburner at the time. The DD/ARM version does have it's own graphics though, albeit in a separate install. So I would advice moving towards ARM, the more so as 0.40 will be ARM only.

0.40 is a little way off yet - we are still in the development stages. We're hoping to get an Alpha version in testing fairly soon, I'd say. Some of the stuff we have lined up looks as though it should be a pretty good move forward.
