Hi All,

As much as I'm sad that things have come to this, I, like many others here, feel that Paradox and Kerberos must clearly state that they will issue refunds immediately and do so. We were sold a faulty product and that is the only honest and responsible course of action.

I have started a group on Facebook for anyone who feels the same way. We should send a clear message and be ready to act if things take a different course.

Regards,
Amir Abiri.

So, apparently no one was here when SotS 1.0 was released and KNOWS that kerberos is VERY good at fixing the errors... in fact, they already have a MONDAY patch to fix the game crashing bugs... Cut them some slack... they PROMISED us a game on the 28th, and they delivered... I feel my $40 was well spent.

I am disapointed of course, I waited long time for this game. But after a few hours with this buggy and unfinished game I have to say it looks extremely promising.
I rather want to risk losing a few bucks than cut the flow of money for fixing the game. It is a free will of course but for everyone that want refund, please think twice. Without money this game may never be fixed, and it would be a shame!

I fully agree with you, but really, don't cite things which haven't happened yet to support a point you're making. The Monday patch could be surprisingly amazing, or could be a few minor fixes that accomplish next to nothing. It could even be a screwup that breaks the game. Doesn't really matter which, but it's pointless to reference things when you don't know the impact of that thing.

Afternoon - apologies for the silence. After getting the release day updates and builds sorted last night, Steam had an update window for us this morning and we wanted to make the most of it, so the team pushed through until the AM and then had to go sleep. The update fixes a number of occasional crashes in the Starmap, as well as fixing the black ship icons. Single player should be much smoother for people, and between now and Monday's update, we will be hunting down the MP combat crash, a frustrating by-product of yesterday's versioning scramble.

Also, we are putting a priority on tooltips/section descriptions and the manual - a lot of people have brought these up, and while it's a dev team's instinct to focus on crashes, based on response, these on the priority list.

The team is focused on the Monday update and we'll check in here, Twitter, and the Paradox board as often as possible (and our own boards, once we get them back on their feet.)

How does that change what I said? They can claim whatever they want, my point was not to judge the quality of updates before they've happened. That point should be made clear enough by the release itself. On the 27th, I would have talked anyone anyone who would listen into how awesome this game was going to be, and about how I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Yet here we are...

I am very disappointed with the way things are progressing. While Paradox and Kerberos stated that they will issue refunds, so far this isn't happening and I don't see why it should be so complicated. It sounds more plausible to me that they want to wait a little while, allow us to vent and calm down while and work hard and releasing patches to minimize the financial damage.

While this is a good strategy for them we shouldn't agree to that. If you are sold a flawed product you get your money back. Period. When they release the game fixed in the future I will consider buying it again. If anyone wants to wait that's fair enough it's your money. However what the rest of us who are not interested in waiting choose to do is our business.

This is exactly why I started the FB group so that we can organize and prevent this from happening, or at least make it harder for them to pull something like this off. I invite again anyone who is interested in a refund to join the group, email Kerberos and Paradox again and post here. If we don't make it clear to them that this is unacceptable the time it takes for refunds to be processed will be longer and this pattern will repeat itself in the future.

No. As consumers we have strength in numbers. The first thing is to simply show Paradox and Kerberos exactly how many people stand behind this demand. And if they continue to disregard us then we can take legal action as a group.

You can try, but since they're not actually breaking the law that's highly unlikely to succeed.

I didn't say they are breaking the law. However there are laws the protect consumers against being sold faulty products in the US and the EU. There is a difference between breaking the law and settling a financial dispute through legal means.

Enough with these posts. If you want a refund ask for one, if you want to blabber on abouth how annoyed you are go do so somewhere else, do you not have anything constructive in your life to talk abouth besides how terrible this is?

Yes the release was terrible. Enough allready.

Personally i will let them keep my meazly 40 bucks, and hope for a great game in the future. If everyone were to ask for a refund they might even go bankrupt and then we would never be getting the game, so me not asking for it is pretty much serving myself and not beeing a jolly chap. Also take into consideration their previous history with outstanding post-support, this will become a great game, that i am pretty sure off.
Lastly if they were to go downhill because 95% asked for money back and the company would be disbanded then all sorts of personal crap would happen for everyone working there, and i dont want that just over silly 40 bucks and a bad desicion.
Just my view on things.
