Fabricating Claims... I use it a lot, and you? (also, how to?)

I would love it if this were removed (or perhaps better to just make it very unlikely to work), and have more events that grant claims inserted into the game. In the first CK, you could get claims on another noble if the publically insulted you at tournament, etc (maybe have these time sensitive, only good for a year after the insult). Maybe we have the Pope send a request to those with high piety to invade counties with heretics or excommunicated rulers in them (and give another incentive to have higher piety). Other methods, would give more flavor in my opinion.

Fabricated claims are more historical than getting claims from insults. What would be awesome a and add flavor (but might be very hard to implement) would be the possibility to fabricate your lineage. This was a common way to become a pretender, improve your prestige, or get fabricated claims.

How do you expand normally? I use a lot the fabricate claim, but it does not seem very honorable.
Do you use it as well, or you use other way to increase your realm?

I also have a question: I can fabricate claim for a single territory, how I can fabricate one for the Dutchy (or the Realm)? I need to leave my man in the capital city, after having fabricated the first claim?

Its as honorable as it gets. If your Vlach ruler doesn't have a claim in todays' Transylvania, would that be fare? is that right/normal? He/she should invent something legal in order to not offense the civilized lords of the medieval era but make this absurdity right. Yeah, bad people use it too. Good. I mean bad, but good.

I use it in conjunction with holy wars, strategic marriages, murders and usurping for de_jure claims (after usurping a few regions). I also press the claims of people I invite to my court and try to make them my vassals later on.

Invite claimants from neighbouring counties (those you can beat in war) to your court. Make them your vassal by giving them land. You can either give then a county (if you're at least a duke) or nominate them as successor to a bishop (making them bishop when the old one dies) or by building a holding (very expensive) and giving it to them, making them a mayor or bishop or baron. Then, when you press his claim, he will become your vassal. Be careful only to press county claims if you're a duke. To become a duke, use the fabricate claim mechanic to win at least 50% of the de jure counties of the duchy you're in, then form or usurp the duchy.

Does she have a strong claim? If it is a weak claim, it can only be pushed under certain circumstances (e.g. if the current ruler is a woman or if there is a regent).

Very likely it's a weak claim. Weak claims can only be pressed under certain conditions.

Strong claims can always be pressed. In that case, is the target character a vassal? If he is, you need to select his liege to declare war.

Sorry, you were right, it was weak. I slained the owner of the dutchy and pressed my claim

I don't. Other than situations when I believe the character should have the claim according to my knowledge of history or law, in which case I ignore the part about fabricating/forgery and focus on the archive digging and arm twisting needing to prosecute the claim towards recognition. But I do so very rarely if it all, due to how it goes against what the game says in the relevant dialogue.

It is only usefull when you still small.
You see, price is a function of your income, so when your income about 200/mounth you have to pay 5K. Really there are better ways to spend money.

Im curious about this, did any records of nobles forging claims on titles and sucessfully pressing them reach our days? I guess it might have happen at some moments of history and no light ever been shown on the ruse but it sounds like a hard thing to pull off. Medieval records werent exactly excel spreadsheets you can hack into and edit.

The Donation of Constantine is the most famous falsified document I can think of that was used to justify the right to titles in that time period.

Forging claims could also mean claiming a certain cadet branch truly has the right to said lands and buying it off of them as opposed to flat out forging documents. That probably happened much more often, but no examples spring to mind.
