Hi all.

I read here and there that fabricating may be slow and unreliable. So I am wondering is there anything that influence the chance besides the Diplomacy.

I play as Strategos in ERE and was trying to fabricate claims on other ERE vassals. Sometimes it is fast sometimes not. But this case made me wonder: I am the only Serbian culture lord in ERE. Fabricating on Greek lords/lands took a while. But my half-brother was duke of Dioclea and was down to one province of Raugia. I could only attack to make him tributary and I wanted the province to form Kingdom, so I tried fabricating and it fired in matter of few months.

I know this can theoretically happen anywhere, but as younger son of previous Duke, I suppose it makes sence that fabricating might be easier. So, does anyone knows if something like that makes it easier?

For instance, you can marry some of your kinsman even matrilineally so the future lord have some blood ties with your future character. You don't get the claim or vassals directly, but it may be easier to forge some documents...

Also, what influence the price on success? Fabricating claim inside ERE costed me between 70 and 80, and I tried fabricating on Bosnian province in Kingdom of Croatia, and it costed like 160.

Time depends on you chancellors skill and traits. Price depends on your annual income.

Only diplomacy counts, and having more is efficient until your chancellor reachs 20 diplomacy - having more than that does not decrease the time needed to fabricate the claim

It's pretty much random chance modified by diplomacy skill and negatively by a few traits such as Content, Slothful, and I think Greedy. Honestly though, I've had chancellors with really high diplomacy in the 20s get zero claims and chancellors with 8 or 10 skill pop four claims in a row, so it tends to be more dumb luck than skill in my experience. Regardless, other than checking their traits, the only thing you can really do to effect the outcome is to send and re-send your chancellor, since every time you place them it resets the bribe they may have taken (if they've been bribed, they'll literally never fabricate the claim).
