A question. I read sometihng about that human civilization will be always in the game regardless that im choosing them or not at the beginning. We saw yesterday the Sol system, but there is no human civilization. So is this thing changed or my information was wrong and i missunderstaind that?

@Wiz (or whoever you can direct this to): Please reconsider the lack of map modes. The game looks amazing as-is, but without being able to easily spot Alliances and Federations, I feel it'll grow tiresome later on.

I love map modes :(

Edit: Also, boooo Byzantine joke! Boooooo!

@Mathias Rex Humanity CAN show up. Sol can. They might still be pre-FTL or it could be a tomb world because we nuked ourselves silly.

With all due respect sir general. I think that the fourth tech (Ameba breeding program) is from reverse engineering justice leagues ships. You can see the yellow outline and cumulated research points in that picture.

There's 3 "standard" options and then the fourth which is reverse engineered tech like you said. However, if you pay close attention there's scrollable thingy on the right and scrolling the list down would reveal fifth (fourth if you don't count the reverse engineered one). Which is kind of my point regarding the tech UI. (And yes, it is after Blorg researched the tech that gives +1 research option).

2) edit the tech selection so there won't be scrolldown. I don't think stream had single instance where the scrolling was used to check out the hidden research option (not sure if they just didn't notice it or ignored deliberately).
Sorry, I completely disagree with your second point. I really prefer the actual scrolling.

Think about 2-3 other additional techs through reverse engineering, that you can't research right now. And we do not know how many research options will be possible in the endgame, with four not the end of the line. What would you do? Increase the length of the window til nirvana? Shrink each tech in size to a point there it is no longer readable on smaller monitors?

I honestly see no other good way than a scrolling bar ...

it could be nice to have some additional big fat arrows screaming "dont forget about this down there" ^^

(also, i would assume we will see all kind of mods for such things, EUs bigger diplomacy view comes to mind, such stuff is also ironman and achievment compatible, but we will see)

Two suggestions in light of todays stream.

1) add "research all debris in this system" option for research ship. Like said in the stream, seems pretty cumbersome to individually select all debris one by one.

Stellaris_debris_zps2qrjofxm.jpg

2) edit the tech selection so there won't be scrolldown. I don't think stream had single instance where the scrolling was used to check out the hidden research option (not sure if they just didn't notice it or ignored deliberately). Also bonus points for fixing the "Up to 3" thingy above research options after it becomes obsolete & false info.

stellaris_research_1_zpszgg3jtpo.jpg

you should add the tool to manage war on a large scale with multiple belligerent force on max speed...

Question why the starbases dont gain in power when you lvling them up since they are upgraded should be bigger stronger meaning more guns/shields from whati said they dont have shields or shield modules for starbases :(

It's interesting how Paradox added "creeping" with your science ship. This might be the first RTS mechanic they've added in a long time. This possibly explains why they are reluctant to automate science exploration. Would be interesting to have multiplayer shoutcasters given the "balanced" nature of the game.

There should some sort of pre-defined area that you can auto-get your science ships to patrol and scan all 'scannable' items in safe space.
