The problem with history, at least from the youtube content creator's p.o.v, is that the uncontested facts are already extremely widely known (seriously, was there anybody here who was unaware that lend lease happened?).

By "here" you mean anyone of the HoI forums with at least 10 posts? Probably not. I would point out that your average world history class probably doesn't do more than at most gloss over lend lease in five minutes.

I didn't know about The Neutrality Act, or specifics of the "destroyers for bases" arrangement outside of the event text that I clicked away because it was happening to other countries in my HoI3 games. I'm not ignorant about WW2, but there is so much nuance that being extensively knowledgeable about everything about it takes a lot of independent study.

Besides, what is so bad about trying to broadly cover a topic for the uninitiated? Making a 3 hour round table debate about the relative impact of American lend-lease of trucks to the Soviets is not a good way to hook someone in that isn't already invested.

I was told to go to the Extra History Channel to see similar videos. Where would that be?

Russia had lost a couple of wars just 20 years earlier, one vs Poland and one vs Germany.
So I think a Russia without LL would probably not have won vs Germany during WWII.
Japan won against Russia 25 years ago too and they were owned by Soviet in WW2

Soviet had become much better in 20 years, LL did provide much help to relieve Soviet of its burden but not that critical
