I have done this a few times without thinking about it, but now I think I have found and using an exploit to suppress political movements without realizing (or wanting to realize it ).

When starting a saved game, I find that all political movements have Movement Radicalism of zero. Many of them would have been in the 20's or 10's when I saved. Upon opening the new save, I can not suppress the largest movements for only one suppress point each.

Exploit? I think so.

Do you have screenshots? I've been meaning to bug report this, just haven't had enough time (or suppression points) lately.

edit: I did bug-report this for AHD, it was my first; just need to resubmit for HOD.

Meh, supression is underpowered anyway - and if you really have to waste that much time to supress them for a few days, things have gone horribly wrong anyway.
;)

But, yeah, better file a bugreport. It is not intended.

I am glad you people read my post correctly - I just noticed that I had the word "not" in there when it should have be "NOW". See my change in the quote, above.

Important thing to note: movements gain less militancy from being suppressed than from having a less popular reform passed, and the suppression increase from passing the less-popular reform is not applied until the following day.

I don't really bother with suppression. I find that anything worth suppressing usually just pops right back up and gains strength rapidly.

It can be quite handy with the new crisis system. Sometimes you just aren't ready for another Great War. I'm playing Austria right now and I have suppressed some of the Nationalists 3-4 times by 1909.
