Experiences with the demo

One thing i feel would really help would be more in game hotkeys to access stuff such as every type of map (terrain, political, religious, hre, etc).

Also, ESC key should bring up the game menu and "g" should be used to merge multiple selected units in the same province, like in EU2...

Minimize the mouse clicking a bit, let the left hand do something productive.

Regarding colonizing: Ive tried to colonize the Ivory coast 5 times as England, succeeded the first time but I was kicked out by the natives I guess. I tried 4 more times after that with a success rate of 50% but failed each time. Meanwhile France, Castile and Portugal have pretty much take all of the african coast in the time it took me to fail.

So what am I doing wrong?

I can say one thing. Colonizing America as Japan is easy .

I am very disapointed on Paradox Interactive.

First Diplomacy and now EU3

I was thinking that Paradox learned something from Diplomacy, but that was not the case, they made yet one more crapy game.

EU3 will need a expansion version or alot of Patches.

I miss one very important feature: Auto-Pause

You can put events in the log, not show them at all, or on a popup window - but the fourth option from EU 2 is missing, popup windows with pause.
If you want to speed up the game and wait for an something now, you have to wait for the sound effect and punch the space bar fast to stop things - if I wanted an action game I would not be here

Ship some troops over and teach the natives a lesson.
Really though, it is odd that they succeed so easily. I doubt they are killing the natives.

He said dynastic, not dynamic. I think it's pretty clear what the differences between the games is in that regard

Man it's soooo moddable. I've never modded a single Pdox game before, but even I know how to mod EUIII a bit. Thirst thing when the full game comes out, new advisors!

Although I see von Herberstein is included in the game already, which is super sweet!

Probably just if it is 256mb. Not sure about pixel shader.

The game is just mindblowing. The greatest improvement IMO is with the tool tips. Everything is so concrete and staring at you in your face (not to mention it helps that bonuses are listed as green and negatives as red). While I always knew what would do what in EU2 (like DP sliders), they were always vague and now the game puts all of that (and a lot of other things) into context so you can further micro manage. The graphics are a nice change. I can go on forever, Im so amazed right now. Great job on the developers part.

No, it will not. It has been stated numerous times that EU3 requires a Pixel Shader 2.0 compliant card.

Argh, it's 1 AM here already, I need to get up in 6 hours. Too excited to sleep though, the demo rocks too much. But if I play another round, that's at least another hour of no sleep + maybe another 30 minutes of reading the forums after that. I should just unplug my PC.

Gamespot download is shockingly slow, I started downloading from here ( http://www.fz.se/filer/?id=2184 ) about half an hour after and it blitzed gamespot....now only half an hour to go, while gamespot download still says 5 hours left!
