Will we be able (like in Hearts of Iron) to send expeditionary forces to anyone or will we only be able to send expeditionary forces to allies?

This could be quite useful for modeling, e.g, the American "Flying Tigers" air units fighting in China before the official involvement of the USA in the war.

However, should this be implemented, there would need to be some kind of restrictions, and a severe drop in relations from the enemies of the country you sent expeditionary forces to - or perhaps some events could be generated for neutral countries with expeditionary forces fighting abroad.

Otherwise UK could, for instance, easily thwart the Italian war in Ethiopia by sending 10-15 divisions to the Ethiopians, which would realistically cause an international diplomatic crisis, or perhaps even a full scale war.

Something that could really come in handy would be a way to make sure you can deny offers of exp. forces. So that your logistics don't get screwed by your allies sending in their entire armies.

This was fixed in Arma already.

In what way did they fix it? I only played DD myself :)

There's an option in the Diplomacy screen called "expeditionary forces" that lets you choose whether or not you want expeditionary forces from that country.

you should be able to send expeditionary forces to non allies and see it fighting but you should only be able to send maybe one or two percent of your total army i think

Perhaps also limit it to a certain relations threshold. +100 or so.

Also it's stupid to prevent the Italian invasion of Ethiopia. They'll effectively trap quite a few units there because they won't be supplied because of the Suez and Gibraltar straits. But that is of a different matter.

Big fat wrong. Sorry guys. But in their Dev Diaries and FAQ there is something in the game that will allow you to use your IC if cut off. Ethiopia is viable again.

I was thinking leave it to the discretion of the player, if the player wants to cheat and lend his entire army to Ethiopia I think the game should let him (like in the original Hearts of Iron) although mostly I was thinking of this for modeling things like the Spanish Civil war (which I had enjoyed in the original game and I was quite disapointed about the removal of that feature).

woud be cool with sending to none-allies...
think play after 45 a player is playing ussr you the us and it ends with a korean war he kan send help and fight you but not ass soviet but as n.korea but the armies he control can only be jused inside n.korean provinses that they control or own so they will be a gerilja and not away for the ussr to invade and start a war but away to help and defend n.korea not invade the us...
with other words posibility for proxy wars:D
