Started a small war as belgium against holland, my allies the brits send in 20+ divisions. Off course the dutrch were rapidly beaten, when I looked again I noticed manpower was down to -237!! to replace that I woul probably have to convert the entire Congo etc into soldiers. Any workaround (apart from not asking the Brits to join the war?

Disband them all and watch your manpoer skyrocket back up, and get British commanders as well!
Or you can use British divisions to achieve your goals. Then make a peace with Netherlands and give those division back to UK.
Well, at least you aren't the British getting dozens of worthless Indian sattelite nation DIVs.

So i went back to a save game, declared war, didn't ask the brits, defeated Holland but much slower losing several divisions in the process
Does the AI disband your expeditionary forces? Because during the Franco-Prussian War, I was playing as the UK and wanted to swing the war in France's favour (I wanted to destabilize the world) and lent them my "Iron Squadron", consisting of twenty-seven Ironclads. They went to port, and then I swear the French disbanded them. Is this supposed to happen?
