The way it's phrased in the FM Edition's description in my opinion strongly suggests that volume II of the Sabaton soundtrack is not included. But it would be good to get that confirmed.

Kinda surprised there was no forum announcement for Sabaton Soundtrack Vol. 2 and a text search seems to only pull up the recent posts - so, same question - Steam doesn't indicate I own it, so guessing it's not part of the season pass, but it would be nice to have some clarity.

Also... not feeling super great about a season pass that doesn't cover the season of released content. I can understand that this is isn't necessarily an expansion, and other Paradox titles release content in similar piecemeal fashion, but I would likely avoid any future season passes.

I feel the opposite. If the new soundtrack had been included, that would presumably reduce the promised future content we are to receive. And as @fyrkrans said in the post above, the soundtrack does not fit the description of our 'pig in a poke'.

Thanks for clearing that up. I still think it would be a good idea to add to the store pages for DLCs a line indicating if they are or are not going to be included in an expansion pass, to avoid this sort of confusion in the future.

But the thing is it's not a Season Pass, and doesn't suggest that it is. It states it's an Expansion Pass, and specifies exactly what it includes: "Includes Sabaton Soundtrack, Together for Victory - 2 more expansions to come!"

Sorry, I'm just not sure why there's confusion and annoyance, when it includes exactly what it says on the tin.

That said, I do think having it say on the pages for Together For Victory and Sabaton Sountrack "included in the Hearts of Iron IV: Expansion Pass #1" is a good idea.

There are no development diaries, coming soon notices, or any information I can find about any forthcoming DLC/Expansions for Hearts of Iron 4. I am not being sarcastic when I note that people live only a finite amount of time. If Paradox releases the expansion in five years, and I die three years from now, then I didn't really get what I paid for. If I put $50 in the stock market for ten years rather than buying the premium addition and waiting ten years for an expansion, I would be doing a lot better investment. Saying that there will one day be three expansion is kind of meaningless. If you don't produce three expansion within two years of release date (June 2018), then you ought to give refunds or a credit for other paradox products.

What now?
Once 1.3.3 is out the door we will start work on the 1.4 "Oak" update as well as a DLC, which shall remain mostly secret for now, but without revealing too much will have some axis focus.
Our aim is for 1.4 "Oak" to be a bigger than normal patch where we get some time to revamp some systems that have been getting a lot of feedback (Air system will be getting updates for example). A lot of focus will also be put on AI, but we are happy to say that we think it has grown a lot since release. Finally squashing any "frontline dancing" will be top priority there. We have also started working a bit on the side on making the gameplay map clearer and easier to read based on feedback from the community.
After Oak in the misty uncertainty future of winter we have our next big game update where we plan to focus on Asia and war-related stuff. Of course subject to change.

Next week the team is heading to GDC, and this will be the start of bit of a hiatus in dev diaries. We feel like people prefer big juicy dev diaries so we are going to be back once we have done enough big changes on Oak to start talking about them. We plan to be in diary break until April. PDS generally work on expansions all the time. When one is released they start working on the next almost immediately (though they also fix bugs of course; generally there will be a patch in between each expansion patch). In general there is an expansion every 4 to 6 months---though obviously the size of the expansion determines how often one is released.

Also you post frankly comes off as kind of entitled. Things take time to produce and it has been clear from the start that the expansions wouldn't be available from day 1. Also what you were promised when purchasing Field Marshall was two expansions. PI generously offered us a third one for free since they found out that they couldn't keep their promise of the two first being worth at least 50 €. It's a very paradox thing to do and part of the reason why they are so respected, but it wasn't something which was certain to happen.

Things take time to produce and I think I speak for the majority when I say that I'd rather that they take their time and get some quality expansions produced than that they rush and then release something bad/steaming. Or that they have to adhere to some arbitrary deadline which forces them to release unfinished material.

If you would have read the last Dev blog you would know that they said no Dev Blogs till April but then they'll come back, they just felt they didn't have enough finalized content for dev blogs in March. also they announced the next DLC focusing on Air warfare and the Axis (most likely Rumania, Hungary, etc.) and then during Winter there will be the next DLC focusing on Asia. Which is well within your 2 years span.

I see what you mean. We could deliver expansions faster but then there wouldnt have been any free patches. This is why the expansion pass was formulated as giving X value rather than being time based like a lot of "season passes" etc. I think our customers prefer patches and priorities we have done, but of course some customers might disagree.

Seeing that you have my favourite game in your account (Vicky 2), you should know that PDS always delivered quality expansions and those take time to create. Vicky 2 only truely began to shine with the two expansions.

HoI4 will get its second expansion in a few months as has been communicated in this forum. It will be Axis-centric and the first DDs about it coming in April.
I would share your sentiment if this was an unknown company on Steam early access. Then those expansion packs would be dubious.
