Hi there,

Quite a simple question really; in order to play the most up-to-date game, which expansion/patch would I need to download? Also, does the latest patch release include allthe fixes from the previous ones? Meaning, downloading the latest patch would include the fixes/updates from all the previous patches? The same goes for the expansion packs. If I install Art of War, will I get all the benefits/features of the other expansion packs or would I have to install each expansion pack individually to get the fixes/feature updates?

Thanks in advance. Just installed EU4 and before starting I would like to be playing the most up-to-date and bug-free game.

So the patches are autoupdated, but what about the expansion pack question?

If I purchase Art of War, will I get the benefits of the other expansion packs or do I have to purchase and install each one individually? Or should I pick which ever one I find the most appealing and get that one?

the hotfix is yet up to date. In steam you will have the latest patch, but if you purchase a dlc, you will have the benefits only of that dlc. If you have Art of war, you will not have other dlc features, so you should install every dlc to have all the features

Steam keeps the game patched automatically. Expansions are independent and neither include nor require earlier ones. You can opt into betas or older versions of the game in Steam, but there is currently no public beta.

Its not like the Civ series where the newer expansions contain the content of the older ones.

Each expansions enables certain features that are otherwise disabled.

Well, you could buy them all and use them all. Also, a few times a year the game goes on sale. Frequently, right before a new DLC comes out all the old ones will be 75% off. So you can wait for that (also, Steam Christmas sales should be coming up and Paradox games frequently are part of sales).
