Hi!
I'm making a new scenario, and I was wondering how I could expand the RGO's from the start, to avoid too much internal migration in a country. I tried to look in the Province.csv, but couldn't see what (if any) values I should change..?? :rolleyes:

Is your player contry unciv? Uncivs cannot expand RGO. It's hardcoded.
Yes but they can start the game with RGOs of levels greater than one and I believe the OP wants to start the game with more that way by tampering with the scenario files.

That's only in 1.4 and only goes up to level 6 (30 workers). And it is still hardcoded.

The changes need to be made in the POP files.

An unciv can have an RGO up to level 6 (for 30 POP groups of up to 100K size - note in Victoria 1.4 and Revolutions the max size of pops is ~70k to allow for some room for pop growth early in game, but they can be up to 100K) while a civilized nation is not limited.

The only other limit would be that POPs under 10K will merge, so the smallest unit you would want for any province would be a 10K pop. And of course with Revolutions the ability to split POPs >40K plays a role in how one might want to divide up provinces.

So it is very much in the realm of the possible to take, say, Paris province and divide its starting farmer POPs (something like 200K total farmer pop in GC IIRC) into a whole bunch of 10K farmer POP. You'd end up with a level 4 or level 5 RGO.

So for those that would want to do this, the solution is in the POP files.

Well.. I was talking about a civilized country (Serbia, in my modern day scenario.) And the RGO's are all full with unemployed labourers from the start.

Also, another question: What are the best ways to avoid minority pops being assimilated? I added Communist Cuba, and placed some Chinese pops there (1% of population, around 100 000 people, 25000POP) and they are all assimilated after some weeks.. :wacko: Could it be that it is in America?

Besides using the automatic expansion that happens at the start based on the number of workers available, you could probably also define the RGO in the scenario .inc file just like you would define a factory (except that you apparently must also define the state the RGO will be in).
e.g. to put a level 10 cattle ranch in Konigsberg:
Code:
state = {
	name = "Ostpreussen"
	colony = no
	province = 395
	province = 396
	province = 397
	province = 398
	rgo = {
		type = cattle_ranch
		level = 10
		id = { type = 5300 id = 4613 }
		location = 396
		}
	}
