Yay! I have been asking for a new pathfinding alghoritm for boats and for improvements to the message system :D

Also I want to congratulate you for answering fans all the time on the forum. On other forums (CiV) you don't get a representative for weeks.

Oh no, it's not either of those this time :( I meant it's something that has been asked a lot by the community. But we do work on the game still, so don't lose hope!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I like being part of the community and answering your questions, it's definitely much nicer compared to all the boring paperwork I need to do every now and then :D

Hi everyone,
I was Just wandering if below ground (not underground) train stations will be available in this expansion.
I don't know if my my eyes were deceiving me, however, I thought I had seen such station in the 45th second, top left quadrant of the silent trailer.
Anyway, thanks for the ongoing development of the game. Looking forward to the release.

Below ground stations are already available in the game. Metros can go over ground if you wish.
Im not sure about what is in 45 secs, but I think its the monorail.

Thanks! For May we have Design Marvels DLC (5 new vehicles), Tokyo expansion (new map + campaign, monorail and new vehicles) and two other things I'm not allowed to tell before the dates have been set by Paradox. But I will say that there's one improvement that you have asked for that is coming soon ;)

And I can't wait to tell you either!

WOW! All the team must be working very hard. Its a lot of things for 1 month. I'm very glad.
Hope the piles of money are growing faster and faster :D

I'm wondering if the monorail is always going to be just single tracks, or will it have a 2-track option? And are we going to maybe see single tracks for other rail types, because I think that would be an amazing addon... it would give a lot of flexibility, and a single track station would be amazing as well.

Thanks for your reply,
however, i mean below ground level train stations so that you can have a sunken train network, like you see in a lot of train networks.

Do you mean "Heavy" Trains? (The ones that go between cities and not inside cities)
If yes, I don't see how it adds to the game since you don't control them. If not, then I didn't get your question since underground metro stations are already available and they can be connected to ground level and elevated tracks.

I hope this means that working traffic signals will finally be implemented. I think that has been the one thing I really want to see in this game. I mean I love the traffic and congestion, but the gridlock is just insane with 100% Private motorizing option. Still quite fun tho.

No, like this station where the tracks are below ground (and below the roads) but still outdoors. The new york subways have plenty of outdoors stations as well as the usual subway/elevated stations.

OK, now I got it. That could be a nice addition, but I don't see it as a necessary one. The current metro system is good and doesn't need more levels (only larger stations).
This kind of stations still needs an open area like ground level station, so it is not something that helps the versatility of the metro system.
But, that's just my opinion.

the problem of the metro is that it functions even if you cheat. I mean a normal line would not work if you build it like: A-B, B-C, C-D. But in CIM not only that this is allowed, but it also is the most profitable. I would change the rules of the game so that a passanger would not change more than 3 subways unless it takes a very long ride (many stops, or many miles).

The impression im getting from the screenshots on Gamersgate is that the monorail replaces the tram as a transport option in Tokyo?

By the pictures on Gamersgate there will be at least two new monorail trains (cap. 40 ppl.) and one minibus (cap. 24 ppl.).
Did you notice the Stern-Berger Midi (Design Now DLC) looks to get some screentime too?

Also, i'd love to know what resolution those screenshots were taken on, and how they get the UI to take up so little of the screen. I run the game at 1366x768 (highest my screen can manage) and the UI still takes up about twice as much space on screen. I'd hate to be someone playing on 800x600!

Omg the monorail will replace trams?? And will the monorail be available in other maps? Cant i use trams in tokyo? :O
Well, looking at this screenshot, the monorail vehicle shown looks to be available on the tram tab in the vehicle shop. Im guessing that its just for this map. Besides, in such a high-density city, would you really want to build a tram network?
