Nice and unexpected.

I never got the monorail DLC for CiM1. Do any of you guys care to share any thoughts about how this may work, if you bought it for CiM1?

I sure hope it's more than monorails, not that I would complain if we got them.

More than anything I want to see railway stations of various types (stub, pass-through, big, small) and metro lines doubling as railway lines, with custom-made trains. Without such, no city transport simulation can be realistic. Even Vancouver, where I live, has 2.5 trains scheduled a day. (As opposed to my previous residence, Geneva, which had 500 or so).

Monorails ought to be a cool addition - I just hope they're done as a proper additional vehicle class, not (as eis_os mentioned) just a replacement/mod of an existing type. I wonder what the monorail characteristics will be like vs metro and tram (I know we had some small discussion of this in the monorail suggestion thread)?

Maybe the monorail will have the characteristics of the pre-metro designs people have made? It may also have streetcar style characteristics, where it can be very versatile.

You missed a lot from CiM 1 then. A lot. Monorails in CiM 1 came with an entire set of japanese buildings, Tokyo DLC, new city, new campaign, new props. Was the best DLC of CiM 1. Plus the city was at night instead of day.

Monorails were very versatile, I used them in all my games. You could cheaply go over buildings and make fast routes without worrying about traffic. Also monorails fit more people than trams and its cheaper than metro. I really like them.

Sure monorails "replaced" trams in CiM 1, but that was easily changed with a mod, where you could have all modes of transport at once. I hope in CiM 2 we won't have to worry about that.
