i reached a point where i need to get rid of excess metal because of my wonder that produces 50 metal and 20 rare metals.

but when the storage get full the whole production stops. is there a way to get rid of your standard metal?

Create a large metal dump nearby with the metal storage pads is about the only thing I can think of. A couple dozen of them in a close by area should work in the short term.

I find creation of massive solar arrays [or other device that uses metal for maintenance] working rather well, especially when put near the dust creating building to increase frequency of maintenance;
