I've seen videos of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada and to be honest all I see is just a few of ships flying around occasionally shooting at each other, I find Starcraft 2 more thrilling and engaging than that. Plus Warhammer 40k isn't really my thing (yeah call me a heretic or whatever ). Just voicing my opinion...

Playing CK2 for the first time. Good practice with Paradox games and it's the opposite of sci-fi (I played EU4 before I learned about CK2).

I'm also saving my pennies for the next big sale so I can stock up on expansions for both CK2 and EU4. I've been feeling like if it ain't Paradox, why bother recently (likely due to playing too much of the new MOO and finding it unsatisfying compared to Blorg streams).

Been replaying Dead State. Good times, a bit better now that I know where a few of the useful survivors I didn't rescue in time are. Still not sure how the heck you're supposed to build the lab in any reasonable time unless you specifically spec your character for it.

Also, trying to figure out what species I want to use for my first empire. Not the Blorg, obviously. I mean, they'll be in the game, but I don't want to be them, I want to be their friend.

I am having a lot of fun with Battlefleet Gothic: Armada so far. The campaign is fun.

I'm surviving by rewatching the Blorgstreams on Youtube and playing Victoria 2 with the POP Demand Mod. I only ever played V2 Vanilla, so playing it modded has greatly improved the game. Also, it gives me POPs, which is as close as I can get to Stellaris in a Paradox game.

It's a bit deeper than that, I assure you. The persistent campaign (and multiplayer) mean you're amassing a fleet of ships of various sizes and capabilities, fine-tuning their stats and abilities and crew, and gaining experience with them. In combat, there's a lot to keep in mind with engagement ranges, facings, firing arcs, and when to flip on special abilities and using special weapons and such. There's a lot going on with those few ships flying around and occasionally shooting each other.
