The issue is not about how evil the picture look, it's rather that the muslim one look like a caricature.

It's supposed to, it's an event picture for Lunatic Muslims. I'm not entirely sure why it's used as a Gov't form picture, and that's the real problem here.

The Norse one looks most sinister what with corpses hanging on trees... surprised you're not complaining about that one.
I think it has more do with the artstyle. The artwork for the Muslim government looks a tad cartoonish compared to the other ones.

It looked to me more like he was trying to cut off his own nose, rather than trying to lick the sword.

But yes, it does look cartoonish. OTOH, the complaint in the OP was about it looking sinister, but the Norse one (which the OP described as "scenic but nice") is by far the most sinister-looking IMO.

Wouldn't be a bad picture for the 'sultanate of terror' assuming musims can also get demonspawn. Still, technically its the least evil of the three; at least he isn't shouting at a slave/servant, or decorating trees with corpses.
Zoroastrians can have demonspawn which resulted in a sultanate of terror for me. I don't know exactly what you need for demon spawn but the two I saw had a seductress, landed mother, which would be hard to get as Muslim.

Agreed. They're all evil looking, it's just that the Muslim picture is the most obvious cartoonishly evil, while the others actually don't look that evil until you notice the chains on the servant or the bodies in the tree. It's the art style rather than the subject.

I really like the Norse one best because it doesn't really jump out at you until you take a closer look. It also shows more of a possible effect that an overly autocratic kingdom could have on the peasants. The Muslim one is just too over the top, it has no grace to it. Plus it shows what the king is instead of what he does the other two are action pictures.

How the hell is the Muslim one looking most horrific and evil? The Norse one is full of sacrifices made to Odin. The only thing missing is someone doing a blood eagle on a living Christian priest. It looks like a solid black metal cover artwork for some Norwegian or Scandinavian black/pagan metal.

I agree that the quality of Muslim one is worst, but it just looks like some guy licking his sword, while contemplating all the people he is going to behead, and all the virgins he is going to rape. I am sure he has a lunatic or possessed trait. :D

Because, in all honesty, I hadn't even noticed the corpses. Same way I didn't notice the shackles at first. Still think that the Muslim one is the worst one though.

I am a muslim as well, and I don't think the art is bad, just not appropriate for its purpose. I can see it used for lunatic or cruel events, but not for the government form.

To me, the one in the picture isn't a freaking sword licking sultan, but a shadowy figure (maybe an assassin, a spy, whatever else...) putting a sword on a man's throat.

If you look closely to the picture, you can see that the arms have a different style then the sultan head....

In this way, the picture acquires a lot of sense representing a despotic and autoritary government. ;)

I dislike it simply because it's somewhat incongruous with the other two which have more going on in the background....it also looks a bit goofy.

Do the other religious groups like Tengri or West African have different images?
