So, I just turned my caliphate into an absolute imperial autocracy (or something similarly sounding). Before I abolished the council there were some harem women dancing in front of my relaxed looking sultan. Now that I've abolished it, I got the picture of some creepy looking guy with a turban clutching his sword with a look like he wants to lick it ... it looks quite villainish. So I thought, okay, Paradox assumes that all autocratic absolute hereditary imperial governments are bad. I can get behind that, I guess. Then I switch religions around via the console just to see what the other pictures look like. Guess what? The Christian version is oozing imperial splendor and the Norse version is kind of scenic but nice. Then I am like: "What the hell? Why is the Muslim government portrait the only evil looking one?" From what I gather, Muslim empires weren't all that bad to live in during medieval times. Especially in comparison to its European counterparts.
To make a long story short: Please change the picture. I could understand it if my ruler was a lunatic or something, but he is just about as enlightened as it gets. I'll use a mod to replace it with one of the other pictures in the meantime (it gets seriously annoying after a time).
Edit:
Oh, and I'm not suggesting that the Dev team is anti-islam or anything remotely similar. Just a very poor design choice in my book.
Edit 2:
See further down below for pictures.
