Those who cannot argue with facts and logical arguments are merely offering their opinion which to be frank is worthless or nearly so unless that opinion is shared by a majority. That said usually when you get consensus with a majority of people its likely to have supporting facts and logical arguments due to the amount of people debating and sharing that opinion (even if that opinion is derived from illogical emotions said opinions can typically be justified in some manner). Unless of course that opinion is a rush to judgement.

The only minority opinions that are worth anything are those that are supported by facts and logical argument that can have convincing power to the majority (See 12 Angry Men on you tube for classic example )

Sorry, but how do you expect us to take you seriously? The game has been reviewed by dozens of people and is regarded almost unanimously as very complex and not "easy" at all. Sure, some aspects are surely easier, at first sight at least, than in the previous instalments of the game. But you've only had access to the demo so far. No one, except for beta testers and reviewers have played longer than 20ish years, and thus no one, except those mentioned, can say it's easy or hard based on such a meagre experience. The ones that have played longer say the game does prove a bigger challenge than previous versions, so who am I to believe here?


PS: ohmygerd I'm such a l4me teenz0r!!!!11||\\ too bad I'm almost 29 and have been playing EU since 2007, or else that line would have been kinda funny.

Incidentally, it's not like this is a new thing on the Paradox forums -- EU3 was 'dumbed down' from EU2, HoI3 was 'dumbed down' from HoI2, Darkest Hour was 'dumbed down' from HoI2, Victoria 2 was 'dumbed down' from Vicky 1, CK2 was 'dumbed down' from the NEAR UNPLAYABLE MESS that was CK1, etc.


If it's new, and you are capable of understanding it, the Paradox forums will call it dumbed down.

Logic: It would be pointless for PDS to release EUIV worse than EUIII or lacking anything EUIII had, including accumulated features that ended with the last expansion pack. Why? It's just not done, they would lose customer, and doing something like that is in very bad taste. PDS would not do it. Not so sure about dumbing or making the game easier, but I'm just not seeing it done in the demo, it's still a complex game.

Gut feeling: I'm getting this feeling that PDS is trying to evolve the EU franchise with each successive game, keeping what people like about the game, add or remove a few things, but generally make it better faster stronger tougher....

Suffice it to say, this thing about EUIV being dumbed down or made easier is just not true, of course it's all my opinion on the subjuect.

There's my 2cent, not a lot of facts and logical arguments, but whatever.

And i believe that you are wrong. PI does makes best strategy games in general.

Its a very confrontational tone your taking and you should expect people to confront you in turn. Its only natural even covered by physics in Netwons Third Law. The AI in the demo did seem a bit.. Silly, playing as the ottomans and I just had a full morale 16k army standing there and they charge with 20k with barely enough morale to move and no general, no surprises here they got annihilated. Hopefully this is a demo thing. :3

And it doesn't justify a page and a half of sarcastic comments. And the same thing on every other topic in this forum where people have actually tried to give constructive criticism of the demo.

Also, for everyone screaming at the OP to prove that he can form Italy in 20 years - have you looked at the decision? They recycled the same broken decision from EU3, except now you can core provinces in 5 years. And you can manufacture CBs too. You only need five provinces - the only challenge is to appease Austria so it doesn't get involved, or just attack Milan when someone else is the emperor. Or play Milan, then you only need four more. The only roadblock is 10 admin tech, but that's just a matter of waiting or picking a later start date.

Seriously, unification is even easier than in vanilla EU3. If you want to pick a hole in an argument, attack WC in 100 years - that's almost certainly impossible with overextension. But even unifying Germany should be a piece of cake.

I think its a start date thing. Ottomans had the same thing with Albania in the 1444 start date. Instead it was a 19k stack right next to Albania.

A lot of people being wrong at the same time doesn't make them right, especially when there's no real basis nor do they try to provide one.
