Show us a screenshot of an Italy formed by venice in the demo's time frame, you have longer than 20 years to do it in actualy. When you manage to do this we might take you seriosly, untill then shutup please.

Ummm...........you DO realize that the start date for the demo is about 50 years later than the earliest start date in the actual game, right? I'm pretty sure that was deliberate in order to give a head start on tech and ideas, and therefore is SUPPOSED to be easier.

Trust me, you won't see Italy united.

It's pretty clear that they made armies and navies move around on the map in order to draw in the Sonic the Hedgehog demographic. Completely shameless.

HA! That explains perfectly why I felt completely sucked in. Everything makes sense now. Thank you.

Will just keep my opinion to myself from now on looks like even the forum are overrun by mass market teens who think this game is not getting dumbed down.

As someone already stated - prove that it's easy to form Italy in 20 years and do it. you have 28 years, and start as one of the strongest sides in Italy; if it's EASY, you should manage it comfortably in that time right?

Yes, please keep your opinion (and you insults) to yourself next time around, alright? And what exactly is a "mass market teen". The answer: A blatant, inaccurate steriotype.

You know I don't agree with you, but mostly because EU3 was itself not all that complex of a game. It was an excellent game, don't get me wrong, but there were a lot of things that were lacking. I'm going to wait a few years to buy this game, not only to allow expansions to come out and the price to go down, but also to give mods time to develop. EU3 really came alive when one began using the mods developed for it.

That being said, the thing that most discourages me about EU4 is that Paradox developers didn't take more ideas from mods. Given how underdevlopt religion seems to be in EU4, Dei Gratia in particular should have been incorporated. That mod was sheer genius.

I am too old to consider myself a teen. I played 5 or 6 hours of the demo, tried all countries for a bit and just played Ottoman all the way, I did not get an understanding of how trade worked by playing as Venice, or how colonization worked by playing as Portugal, or even how diplomacy and HRE worked as Austria because I just sat there for a minute on each of them and just thought that I just wanted to go warmonger and play as Ottomans, and that I did. I was not being perceptive while I play. All I can vaguely say is that the game is "improved".

And no I don't think anything is dumbed down or made easy.

I can't believe you guys, calling this game a dumbed down arcade game? EU3 is, somehow, totally hardcore with it's WORSE AI? ;)

I really like EUIV, I find it perfectly fine with more transperancy what the hell all those numbers do. There are no worse than having a game so complex you need that excel sheet to calculate things.

Please back up your statement. As you can see, I'm no Paradox newcomer, and what you are saying is flippant at best, insulting at worst.

The game is roughly on par with EU3 in difficulty and options. The options available are different, but there's just as many at any given time.
