I'm playing on the latest beta patch (2.2.0.6) trying to form the empire of Russia (769 start date, with all DLCs except Sunset Invasion), and as I've progressed every single new Russian male who spawned has been named Rurik. The only exceptions are the sons of my vassals they seem to be randomly named like normal (STILL SOME RURIKS THOUGH). If I invite a noble or holy man to court, it's Rurik! If I hover over the option to invite guess who will be invited to my court? Another Rurik!

And guess who arose to lead the warriors of Perun after I reformed the Slavic faith? That's right, it's Rurik! And who are the fine and upstanding young men who joined his court after I landed him? Rurik, Rurik, and his friend Rurik.

All joking aside, this isn't a game breaking bug or anything, but I think things will become very confusing once I have more vassals and land. When Rurik Rurikovich is defending the realm from Rurik Lowborn's peasant rebellion, after crushing Rurik of the Old Slavic revolt's uprising, and is taken by surprise when Rurik the adventurer comes to claim land, during Rurik the priest's Great Holy War I think I might go insane.

Female names are apparently working normally, forunately, but the Ruriks are already getting out of control and there's only about 10 of them. This bug has occured in multiple playthroughs, with no mods each time.

The same goes for the Pictish culture, it will start with one randomly generated name and then stick with that for all "Invite Noble Man" or "Invite Holy Man" decisions. It also stays with that single name when trying to randomize character names in Ruler Designer. It is usually Paul, only one other time since 2.2.0.6 launched did it choose another name, Magnus, and then it stuck with Magnus for the duration of the session., the sessions after that returned to naming every new noble and new courtier Paul, even the ones that would come in randomly through events.
Last names that can be randomized however are only those that already exist in Pictland; Ce, Circinn, Uerturio, Caliu, Uib, Orc and Cait, no others show up.

In my game the Emperor has declared Michael, Samuel, David, and Daniel the only acceptable names for a proper greek christian man to hold. Pretty laid back on female names however.

I've reported this issue for some other cultures but I haven't seen it to this extent.. will make some more tests and add it to the database as I see which ones can be affected.

Update: I've talked to the dev team and they think they know where to look to fix the bug... I can't give you an eta on a fix... but I hope it will be out with the next patch.
