Why did Paradox have to do this. Everything looks boring now in comparison to this RTS/Grand Strategy.

I feel your pain. I've been wandering from game to game. Even buying new games. Nothing helps. Nothing.
So I read Asimov and watch Babylon 5. And dream of greater spaces on the horizon!

Same here... even worse, I know I won`t be able to play until ~15th May, because I`m going to a big conference on the other end of my country so probably I won`t have time nor possibility to play anything 
Most of the games seems well... not boring but sth like "meh". Even EUIV is not fun anymore... I will play it again for sure, but now it is also "grey"...
But oh well... forum and freespace and a shitload of work to do are good ways to do sth with time until 15th May ;-)

I'm playing CK2 and enjoying it. It's my first time though and that helps. Plus, not sci-fi.

i know that feeling. i sit and look at my games library on steam and all my games just don't scratch the two itches paradox has put there. i can't play HOI3 because HOI4 looks so much better and I'm super excited for stellaris, more so than for HOI even which is impressive considering i hadn't paid much attention to stellaris because i was fully on the HOI hype train.
then i finally looked into stellaris and started watching the streams and my mind was blown and now i can't wait and i wish i hadn't looked into it until closer to may 9th

You'll find Stellaris boring too when another new shiny looking game comes out.

I've been getting deep into Fallout 4 again. My final essays are also due on the day Stellaris releases, but I am actually having a good time because my essay is about the evolution of intelligence, and how it could be applied to alien life.

No, HoI is the exception, but that's not the game's fault, the franchise is just boring in general.

If someone manages to develop a game to one up it, I'll be impressed. Otherwise, if we've learned anything from their past games like CKII or EUIV, it never gets boring even after years.

Energy is eternal and goes through several transformations. My negative energy creates a loop and returns to me as positive chakra.
Though I feel like one big contributor to this has been that there haven't been many good games recently. Fallout was kind of a let down, so was X-Com 2. I never played Witcher III, so I trust that is one exception (I'm sorry, I will when I get around to it). Probably the only "new" game that I have been playing a lot of besides EU4 has been Company of Heroes 2....and some Red Orchestra II Rising Storm as well.
Though for me personally, my gaming has only been going down hill after I finally grew up and realized that Spore SUCKED. I am still waiting for good versions of that game, and I am just hyping for Stellaris because it will make that game's space stage actually fun and worthwhile.

You aren't missing anything with W3, it was overhyped to hell, the actual gameplay was about average but had some pretty graphics.

I'd say W3 is definitely worth playing, i thought it was on of the best modern rpgs, in terms of story, atmosphere and main/side quests. But i must say even i couldn't play through it a second time, and the combat is rather repetitive.
I'd recommend getting it when the "blood and wine" expansion comes out and get the full experience.

Love Witcher 3. A very dense world. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it. Still have a bit to go through. Even though I'm a DA fan, it really blew Inquisition out of the water.
