Has anyone ever encountered the US giving the British BB's and CV's. I was in a naval battle and suddenly was up against Yorktown and Enterprise under the British flag.

Does that happen? I have never seen it before, just looking for some confirmation on that!

That is normal if fleets of several nations are in battle together - only one guy appears to be in command, but all ships taking part are listed in the battle view. It doesn't mean the US gave these CVs to the Brits and I never saw "naval exp. forces". I also doubt the UK bought those ships, doesn't seem to happen between AIs as well.

So most probably there were just UK and US fleets in one area at the same time in battle, that's all. Unless you annexxed the US and their fleet went to the UK as the leader of the alliance.

Thats what I thought as well. But the fleet consisted of 2 CV's 1 CL and 2 DD's. So the CL's and DD's must have been the British ships and the CV's the US. But wouldn't you think that the US Naval leader would appear rather than the British. If the British commander is of higher rank, he will assume command correct?

Hm, could be 2CV/2DD for US, the CL being British. Of course, just a guess. When the battle is over, you could activate nofog for a short moment to see what's going on and where those ships belong to.

You might be able to tell by the name of the ships too... Is the CL an American name or British name?

The DDs may be harder to tell, but if they're level I they're more likely to be American.

Also, remember that the AI does not run its fleets with the optimal mix of capitals and screens. I can't tell you how many times I've killed the hornet TF at the beginning of the war as it runs around completely naked.

Has anyone ever seen the US have over 25 BB's and 23 CV's in 46' during the 44' Godderdammerung scenario. I am playing Germany and I have ten spies within the US and they apparently have that many BBs and CVs. I have never seen this amount been consructed by the US. Is this possible, anyone ever seen so many ships when playing before?

I've seen up to 15 CVs in the US build queu and when combined with already built, yes, I have seen that number. I normally play 36' campaign, so I've built up my own navy so the build queu just replaces losses, but in the 44 case, that might not be the case.

Never checked, but seems ok for the '44 scn. In a normal GC 36 the US builds lots of CVs, hardly new BBs. But they start with a number of old BBs (10+). In the 44 scn they get additional new BBs and CVs that were build until 44 (so 10 more BBs alone: 2 North Carolina class, 4 South Dakota class and 4 Iowa class).

Yeah I have seen Japan have that many CVs but not the US. The only reason why I noticed it was because I was beginning to rebuild the Kriegsmarine for an attempted invasion of North America. Its going to take a while to get sea superiority over the Atlantic with that kind of firepower. Yikes!

They start the '44 scenario with 23 BB's, own 13 CV's with additional 8 in the building queue, so I don't think its unusual.

And if you want to see what they construct on their own: In a Japan '36 game without war with the US they have built 19 BB's and 31 carriers and a >50 fighter/>50 bomber force until '46. That will be challenging fun :D
