After months of analysis/try and errors, I finally found the way to negate inactive status of EU2 engine.
This hack will make your CK keep running while inactive. (eg. minimized by pressing ALT+TAB in full screen mode, losing focus in windowed mode)
It might be helpful for both SP players and modders who want to do something else with their PC during peaceful(boring?) time. Also, you can play multiple countries at the same time in MP by running multiple instances.
It's self evident that you do this changes at your own risk. There is no warranty for damages caused by the patching.
(1)Manual Patching
1.Back up Crusaders.exe in case it won't work well.
2.Open the file with a hex(binary) editor.
3.Move the focus to the top address given below.
4.Overwrite every byte value to '90' within given address range.
5.Save and commit the change.
(2)Automated Patching
I created a program which can patch all titles using EU2 engine regardless of title, version, and language in theory.
It's available at my homepage.
